Even een vraagje aan de Nederlanders hier.....hoe snel na jullie interview hadden jullie je paspoort met je daarin je visa weer thuis? Het is inmiddels 3 dagen geleden en ik heb nog niks ontvangen . Door al het rumoer in het Consulaat heb ik ook ik alleen iets meegekregen van 3 dagen ofzo, maar zeker weten doe ik het niet meer.

Well, laat maar zitten. Heb net alles ontvangen (typical)

VAN HARTE GEFELICITEERD MET JE VISA EM!!!!

Ennnnnnnn hoe is het gegaan?
-Hoe is het gegaan met je interview?
-Wat hebben ze je allemaal gevraagd?
-Wat moest je allemaal overleggen alszijnde “bewijs” van een serieuze relatie?
-Wat hebben ze precies in het ziekenhuis met je gedaan?
-Heb je lang moeten wachten in het ziekenhuis?
-Gingen ze “normaal” met je om,…of meer alsof je maar een “nummer” ben?
-Hoe lang heeft de totale interview ongeveer geduurd?
-Heb je lang moeten wachten voordat je aan de beurt was?
-Wat zijn ongeveer de totale kosten vanm docters / xray's/interview/ enzovoorts?

Ennuuh,...je gaat ons toch nog niet AL verlaten he?

Ik zal mijn review wat betreft het Consulaat wel even copy en pasten (scheelt weer typwerk en hij pakt mijn link niet )

.....I arrived at the Consulate at 12.30, totally nervous of course. There were already 3 people waiting in front of the gate and while the time passed more people joined. Around 1.15 pm a guard came to the gate and asked who was there with an appointment letter for an immigrant visa. I was number 4 and he let 5 of us inside the gates. I went through the security check and was told to wait with the others in front of a door. There I had to go through another security check and was told to go to booth 5, but that was where everyone was told to go to. When it was my time to go to the booth I was met by a very friendly Dutch guy. He asked me for my name and my passport. He asked for my bank statement which showed you paid the fee and the pics + birth certificate. He also asked for the I-134 + supporting documents. He gave me my xray back and told me to wait untill my name would be called. About 30 minutes later a lady called my name up to a booth, asked me to raise my right hand, asked me to sign a form, asked me how we met, what my fiance's job description was and what I was planning to do in the States. She then took my biometrics, started signing a bunch of papers, closed a folder with my pasport inside and said well, that's it, congratulations you've got your visa! I was out of the building before 2.30 pm......

Het viel me achteraf gezien echt reuze mee. Ik heb geen bewijs van relatie hoeven laten zien. Ik was daar zelf best verbaasd over omdat het toch iets is wat op de checklist staat, maar goed, er is mijn geval nergens naar gevraagd. Ik moet zeggen dat ik het er binnen in het consulaat zelf nogal tsja, hoe zeg je dat, rommelig aan toe ging. Iedereen werd naar één en hetzelfde loket verwezen, waardoor het erg rumoerig was en je de persoon aan de andere kant van het glas niet erg goed kon verstaan. Mijn totale 'interview' heeft nog geen 5 minuten geduurt volgens mij, het wachten vooraf duurde het langst.

Wat betreft de kosten.....xray was 50 euro, bij de dokter was ik 194 euro kwijt (155 euro voor consult en 39 euro voor de bmr-injectie die ik heb gehad) en de kosten van de visa zijn 85 euro (moet je voor je interview hebben overgemaakt en je moet je originele bankafschrift met daarop je betaling meenemen naar je interview en daar inleveren).

Zolas het er nu naar uitziet vertrek ik op 17 juli uit Nederland.....al over 4 weken dus Ik zal dus een paar drukke weekjes voor de boeg hebben, maar goed, it'll be worth it.

Hebben jullie inmiddels al wat gehoord met betrekking tot het RFE gedoe vanwege dat IMBRA ding?

Hellaas heb ik alleen in de weekenden genoeg vrijetijd om ff naar vj te surfen!
Dus daarvoor vast mijn excuses als ik niet direct antwoord!

In de eerste plaats alvast heel hartelijk bedankt voor ALLE informatie tot dusver!!!
Voor wat betreft nog meer vragen; die komen er wellicht nog wel,….echter kom jij nog terug op deze website wanneer je dan E I N D E L I J K in Amerika bent aangekomen?

En om jou vraag te beantwoorden;
Tot op heden hebben Michele & ik hellaas nog helemaal NIETS vernomen van de RFE of de NOA2.
Het is zomaar stilletjes op de “USCIS” website,….VEEL TE STIL als je het mij vraagt!

Ik persoonlijk vind het ronduit belachelijk, schandalig en een erg kwalijke zaak hoe dat “UCSIS” alle “mensen” in ONWETENHEID laat zitten wachten!!!


Zodra er weer wat vragen te binnen schieten laat ik je dat wel even weten!

In iedergeval alvast HEEL VEEL SUCCES met alle zaken die nog geregeld moeten worden voor je definitieve vertrek!

Ai, da's balen zeg dat jullie nog niks gehoord hebben. Ik weet hoe frustrerend dat kan zijn. Maar het kan nu vast en zeker niet lang meer duren.....and I am still keeping my fingers crossed for you guys!

Ja hoor, ik blijf hier gewoon komen hoor als ik in de States ben. Er is hier genoeg informatie te vinden over het hoe en wat verderop in het hele proces, want er staat ons hierna nog best wel wat te wachten natuurlijk.

Nog 3 weekjes en dan vertrek ik. Moet zeggen dat ik, nu het eenmaal zo ver is, wel een beetje met een dubbel gevoel zit. Ik kijk ontzettend uit naar alle dingen die gaan komen, maar ik zit ook wel weer een beetje in een dip wat betreft vertrekken enzo.....sigh. Je denkt van te voren ach, het gaat allemaal wel meevallen, spullen wegdoen, huur opzeggen, maar als het eenmaal zo ver is, is het wel even slikken, maar goed.

Mede doordat voorheen de “looptijden” wat korter waren dan nu met de nieuwe IMBRA wet, had ik AL mijn eigendommen al verkocht!
Ook mede doordat de verwachting was dat in Oktober ofzow de Visa eindelijk door zou komen,…heb ik ook geen “eigen” huisje meer!

En ik moet toegeven; wanneer je AL je eigendommen verkoopt, dat DAT inderdaad een heel vreemd gevoel met zich meebrengt!
Spullen waar je KEIHARD voor hebt moeten werken om ze te kunnen kopen en AL die herinneringen,….en nu verkopen voor (in verhouding) een prikkie,…doet inderdaad zeer ja,.WEG herinneringen!

De enige spulletjes die ik nog als “eigendommen” heb (in afwachting van m’n Visa) zijn m’n kleding en toebehoren, deze computer, en mijn auto (omdat m’n werk 80Km van huis is!) thats it!

Ennuuh thanks dat je, je vingers gekruist houd voor ons,..don’t stop now!

Ik heb de gok maar niet genomen om mijn huur, ticket etc te regelen voor mijn interview. Ondanks het feit dat er haast niks fout kon gaan vond ik het risico te groot. Het is hier nu al een kale boel. Alleen mijn meubels staan er nog en wat planten, die gaan pas weg als ik al weg ben. Alle persoonlijke spulletjes staan inmiddels opgeslagen in de grote schuur bij mijn zus. Een deel ervan gaat alsnog weg, maar er zitten ook wat dozen bij met dingen die ik terzijnertijd over wil laten komen. Ik zit nu nog even te dubben of de kat die niet mee kan hier moet blijven totdat ik weg ben of dat ze al een paar dagen eerder naar mijn zus gaat, zodat ik haar nog weg kan brengen. Daar heb ik eigenlijk gezegd nog het meeste moeite mee.....sigh.

Hebben jullie inmiddels je RFE al gehad of zitten jullie nog steeds te wachten?

I'm definitly excited that the departure date is getting closer and closer. Just 2 more weeks to go All I need to do now is buy myself another suitcase. Hoi Mark!

Wow, jullie zijn inderdaad veel 'getouched' zeg. ....let's hope dat het maar één ding kan betekenen, namelijk dat jullie eerdaags die 'you are approved' mail krijgen!

Ik kan 2 koffers meenemen van ieder 23 kilo, dus dat is best veel. Mijn koffers ziiten eigenlijk al zo'n beetje vol en ze halen nog geeneens 20 kilo dus ik kan er nog een beetje meer bij in proppen . Daarnaast neem ik als handbagage zo'n kleine handtrolley mee, waar ik mijn belangerijkste papieren en foto's in doe en eventueel even wat schone kleding om je na aankomst even op te frissen, want na 9 uur in een vliegtuig ben je toch niet zo heel fris meer. . Tsja, en niet te vergeten mijn kat natuurlijk, maar ja, daar moet ik voor bijbetalen op Schiphol.

Enne, ja hoor ik blijf hier gewoon op VJ komen hoor, want ook voor je AOS, SSN, AP, EAD gedoe kan je hier heel veel nuttige informatie vinden......en zo kunnen we het Netherlands topic lekker 'levend' houden .

En yeahhhhh, nog 9 dagen.....ik heb nu al helemaal de kriebels.....goeie kriebels wel te verstaan

Tobe and i had our interview for AOS on the 18th of july... and we were APPROVED!!!!!!!


i wrote a small novel on it in its own thread if you care to read it... it will probably put you to sleep tho! lol

I know it cannot be much longer now, I mean we have an NOA 1 date of March 6th and a fast return of the IMBRA RFE-- so technically we could be among the first approved, but looks unlikely as there have been at least 2 people already approved out of CSC ( with late April NOA 1's)-so bang goes that theory of mine! Our petition was uncomplicated, so I am still believing that soon it's our turn !

How is the Dutch coming along?
Mark sent me some Dutch CD-ROMs ( actually they are for kids, but great to learn by)--they are really helping me with vocabulary and sentence structure!

Let me first of all explain, when you read my spelling: I was born in California, but both my parents are Dutch, and we spoke Dutch at home. But, as you might imagine, there are not too many Dutch books in Los Angeles, so my spelling is mostly a guess.

Ik was op en trip en Nederland, en so hep ik mijn lifje ge onmoet. Zij is uit Belgrado, Serbia. Hoe ik ben daar aan gekomen, is a lange verhaal.

Maar ik vind het best val iets oom es veer en het Nederlands met iemand te keunen spreeken. Ook aal zijn mijn voorden niet goed ge spelt. hahahahahah.

Wow, can't believe I've already been here for a week.....time seems to fly. I had a good flight and immigration at Orlando was no problem. They were all very friendly and I only had to wait for like 15 minutes. Next week I will apply for my SSN and I will also get myself a bike and I want to get my drivers licence real soon too because people look way strange when I walk around in the neighborhood and walk all the way to the beach from up here..... (it's only a 20 minute walk).

Sorry to hear there's still no NOA2 for you guys. Still keeping my fingers crossed for the two of you though. It can't be long anymore now!

Hi. I haven't posted anything in this area, but I also have a K-1 Visa that I applied for for someone who lives in the Netherlands. I found out today that the case was sent to the Embassy. Does anyone know how long it takes to get an interview scheduled after the forms from package 3 are sent back? Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions that we should be aware of. I read the reviews in the Embassy review area and things seem to be very straight forward. But, I would be nice if anyone has any tips or suggestions.

Our K-1 JUST arrived at the Embassy in Amsterdam also-like you I have heard they are fairly fast and efficent. As far as I know the Embassy will be sending him instructions on what he needs for the interview soon.
I am sending Mark the documents he needs for the interview this week FedEx and as far as I know the Embassy will be sending him a list of what he needs to do and what he needs to bring to the interview.
There is some good information on this thread for your Dutch fiance also!

Best of Luck-It really looks like our fiances will be interviewing around the same time!

I'm so happy, but we keep telling ourselves that we can't celebrate until we have the VISA in our hands. I'm really hoping that the interview will be scheduled really soon. Could you tell me how you know when your package arrived at the embassy? Have you heard anything yet? We have not heard anything. I tried calling them on Friday but the number I had from the VJ reviews did not work, so know I'm going to try number from their website. Any information you have would calm my nerves. By the way the end of September is not getting here fast enough!!!
