Howdy,

Surprisingly, I haven't run across an answer to this question yet... so I guess I have to ask myself wink.gif On the NOA2 for our K3 visa, it listed the embassy and the dates that the NOA2 is valid: May to the beginning of September. Since this document is presented at the embassy to gain entry, the interview must take place before this document expires, correct? Normally I'd just kinda sit on it for a bit and see what happens, but we're now mid June, don't have an interview date (that we know of) for the K3, and have not received any packets from the embassy. So if I'm thinking correctly, we have two months at most for this to complete (or it could be much sooner), and we haven't even received any of the paperwork to do yet. Our CR1 is still making its way through the NVC, so that wouldn't have affected anything, if I understand what I've read correctly. It would only change things when both arrive at the embassy. helpsmilie.gif So is my sense of urgency well-based, or am I completely taknig these dates on the NOA2 out of context and getting concerned for no reason? Some days I can be such a silly boy, but I can't tell if this is one of them. wacko.gif Thanks and ttyl,

Interviews in Manila almost never occur by the time the NOA2 expires. The consulate is aware that these expire and their validity is routinely extended by the consulate without any action from you. With the current backlogs, the expiration date is essentially meaningless.

A lot of people say that.

mich,

The petition receipt notice is needed to gain entry to the consulate?

It's getting about time to begin wondering where the visa application packet is. As long as your fiancee responds within a reasonable amount of time (and my suspicion is that you'll have her responding promptly) the consulate will extend the validity of the petition for as long as it takes to process the visa application.

I'm very sure I had read (somewhere...) that it was required, but if I'm wrong, I'm completely cool with that. I'm not sure why you'd need it either, especially if you have your interview letter. Isn't that the reason that the K3 guide says to send a copy of the NOA2 to the spouse? That's good to hear (and have confirmed wink.gif ) that the expiration date isn't as big a deal as I was concerned it would be.

Alrighty, I was thinking that things were running a bit slow... even for Manila wink.gif Thanks for the confirmation on that Yodrak. Yeah, we'll be checking out what's going on there. I've been watching the dhl arrivals, and there's a bit of confusion regarding their site (for some reason packages like 8188058745 are showing that they're "in transit" after they've been delivered and signed for), though I must admit I haven't called them yet to ask about that. Perhaps it's just updating in the wrong order and delivered is delivered.

So I'll need to talk to dhl and find out what's up wtih the site and if delivered = delivered, then we'll need to be contacting the embassy shortly (ie immediately). Luckily, the embassy publishes [pdf 241KB] all its interview dates, but unluckily their last list is about a month old, and I don't think there's a way to be able to predict when it will be updated - the last one came out May 11th and it's June 14th there now. ttyl,

Update:

The nice guy at dhl told me that when it says delivered, then it's definitely delivered, especially if someone signs for it. He said that the "in transit" afterwards was probably a misscan. Just in case anyone has seen something similar. ttyl,
