In the packet 3 instructions from HCMC, it says "Attach TWO or more of the following items to the affidavit"

Here's what I already have:

1. Last years tax returns along with W2 forms.
2. Letter from current employer
(thats already 2!)

3. Recent paycheck stubs
4. Bank statements from 2 differents banks.

But I dont know if I still need to bother with the "letter from the bank". I already asked for them to find proof of my ticket purchase last year and Ohhhhh it was such a hard thing for them to do.. The local bank does not keep records that long, but the have it at the main office in another city. They never did get back to me on that. Anyway, I am dreading going to ask about this letter now and I realy would like to know if its necessary since I already have enough to support the affidavit with my current income. And I already have the monthly statements to show anyway.

You should get a statement from your bank that says how long you've had your account open and your balance at least.

I would suggest if you are afraid of dealing with your bank and they make it difficult to do business with- you might not be with the right bank. Remember- they work for you and there are options (but wait until after your fiance gets her visa to change)

Hi songsparrow,

I personally would get the letter if I were you. You have nothing to lose in trying. However, your bank does - they could lose you as their customer because of their poor service.

I'm struggling with the fact that my company here in Vietnam DOESN'T produce paycheck stubs. In Vietnam - many of you probably know - CASH IS KING! I'm paid in loads of dong every month and no stub or record is given to me.

Give it a shot songsparrow!

I would look at it like this,
You are the customer, and the customer is alway right. If they give you any crap about something being difficult but not impossible then start taking names. In a diplomatic way you should demand the statment of the airline ticket. Dont let them push you . because there is a very good chance that the consulate will ask for that document, So I would tell them that you are not leavinfg without a promise of receiving that document in the next 2 weeks. All you neeed to do is press them into submission. Tell them you will climb the corporate ladder to get the service you need.

STL_HCMC, Maybe in the letter from your employer, they can elaborate in detail about how they pay you guys in cash. I'm guessing the good word from your employer would help explain not having paycheck stubs. Because if that's how they do it, thats the way it is.

My fiance is also having a hard time with bank letter. Finally they released something i think it's a certificate when the account was opened, account number, and very plenty information on it that costs $10. All i really wanted was a bank letter stating that he has an account there, when it was opened, The total deposits for the last year and the present balance. This bank letter is short and to the point it needs nothing else. So many information can lead to so many questions which i do not like.

Is this certificate considered as a bank letter?

My bank gave me no problem about the letter, but I just noticed that it does not have the date my account was opened. Taking no chances, I am having them write a second later stating they left that information off the first letter by mistake and my account was opened on such and such a date.

I cannot have them write an all new letter replacing the old one bcause I have near zero in my account after my trip to Vietnam.

I-134 support evidence:

- Bank Letter stating when was the account openned, currently is in good standing, with how much in total of checking and saving account (CD and others)

- Bank Statements for at least 6 months worth

- Employment Letter: stating you started working for the company since XX-XX-XXXX, currently employed and in good standing, with an annual salary amounth of $XXX,XXX.XX plus bonuses.

- Three (3) to six (6) months worth of Pay-Stubs

- HCM Consulate wants to see 3 years worth of TAX Returns and W-2's

Why all the troubles and more than TWO items as stated on the P3? They want to see the WHOLE picture of your financial well being, do not let them have any reason to deny your fiance's at the door because she did not have 3 years tax returns or enough bank statements or paystubs...

Good luck, and remember you are dealing with HCMC, the above items have been known by many of us here as "no good reason" to delay Visa Approval or "PINK SLIP"

Good luck... again,

chuck and kim
