Kanyiri
Hello,

Re and I had pictures taken about a month after our wedding. We just got them, so I thought I would share some of them with those of you who went through this whole process with us. We are doing well, though we are both extremely busy. My job is at the point where my work is soon due, so I'm working late. As for Re, he got his driver's learner's permit yesterday (yay!) and is starting a training school for CNA next week while still working full time. We are hoping to save money to start our own family soon.

This visa process was long, but worth it in the end. My family is much more accepting now that they have met Re and have been able to sit and talk with him. As for me, I'm just happy to be able to come home at night to find him sitting there waiting for me (sometimes even with food on the stove!).

For those of you who are just starting this process, my advice is short. There are always people who are prejudice. People don't like the color of your skin or the color of your significant other's. People don't like your country of origin or your significant other's. People don't like the circumstances under which you met. Someone always has a sob story to prevent you from tripping on the same stone that they did. Listen to them, and then follow your own path. Don't let someone else make your decisions.

Anyway, if you look at my pictures on VJ you will find us.

I wish you all the best.

Kanyiri,

Your photos are elegantly beautiful luv.gif. I'm glad to hear that Re has settled in, and that you guys have rolled up your sleeves and are working hard to establish a state of normalcy. Sounds like the both of you are operating in sync, which takes some work, but when the both of you are on the same page... It just comes naturally yes.gif. I bet you really enjoy coming home to those home cooked meals after a grueling day.
Thanks for stopping by, which is hard to do when you are trying to help your partner get adjusted to life in America, not to mention married life wacko.gif.(Don't feel bad, I don't make it by as much anymore either. Although we aren't newly wed, we are new in the sense that we have just recently began living our lives together under the same roof and I just don't have the time to do some of the things that I used to commit my time to-posting.)
Well, take it easy and enjoy your new life!

God Bless

I took at look at your wedding pictures and you and your hubby are such a beautiful couple..You can see how genuine the love is between the 2 of you! My boo is also a citizen of Ghana and we have just begun VJ process...A month ago I just received all my NOA1 for the 1-130 and 1-129F. Would you mind sharing information on the Ghanian Embassy and your fiance's experience would be so helpful for me and my boo.

If you look at the embassy reviews, I have written there. Also, if you check old postings, you'll find a lot of our experiences there. Although I'm guessing a lot went away when the server was switched. If you have any questions, let me know and I'll answer them as best I can. If I don't know, I'll ask Re.

Good luck with everything!

Awww Kanyiri, What a beautiful, hopeful post and what beautiful pictures! Continue to be good to each other!!!
The section I quoted above is so true - people will find SOMETHINg that is "wrong" with your relationship. Henry and I are the same race, the same color almost (he lighter skinned), same religion/denomination and his brothers tried to squash our wedding because I am older and have a doctorate. They even crank call us to tell us we are doomed. no0pb.gif So you are right! We have to follow our path!

Good luck to RE as he starts CNA training!!!

Take good care.
