I have a fews questions on forms DS-230 and G-325A and I hope VJ members can help me out.
By the way I sent an email to Sydney Consulate today asking for the packet 3 and I-130. Got a respond back "Out of Office". Any one here experience this?

Here we go

1. Form DS 230

Question #14. Name of spouse and date of marriage.
The sample that I download here had NONE. I don't know what to put there?....None or my name?
if I put my name then I have to put down the date of marriage?
We are not planning to get married after we turn in this form to the Consulate. We just want to send it in so we can have the paper work get started.

Question #22. List all employment for the last 10 yrs.
She only worked for the last 3 yrs and the rest of the time she went to school?...should she only put down the last 3 yrs of work or includes 7 yrs of schooling?

Question #25. List date of all previous visits to or residence in the US.
I know she went to the States 4 times

1st time she was on vacation here for about 2 weeks and stay in the hotel.

2nd time she was on vacation here for 3 months. she stayed in Texas 2 months with friends and 1 month with me. For us, I just took her around to introduce her the US so we stayed in the hotel alot.

3rd time she was with me for 9 days

4th time she was with me for 3 months.

None of those address has her name showed up. What should we put down for this part?

Form G325A - Biographic Info

toward the end of the form there is a section for "This form is sumbitted in connection with application for:

I think both of us have to fill out this form and bring it to the consulate.

my question are: do I put cross the Status as Permanent Resident for her?

and for myself check the other (specify) box: and put I-130 petition for wife or fiance?

Thank you very much for reading my post and response to my questions.

Regards,

Sacto

Hello,
since you are not married yet is the answer to #14 NONE.

If she just worked for 3 years then she can fill out 3 years only.

To question #25. Just enter the dates and where she was. They are asking for her presence in the states. Not if she lived here before.

Yes, both of you have to file a G-325A.
But if you are not married yet and if you are not planning to get married soon the visa type is K1, not K3 or anything else.

My understanding is that DCF is intended for married couples, so I think you have to be married BEFORE you file.

DCF cannot be used for fiances, only married couples, so if your intent is to get married in the USA, then you cannot file DCF.

Hi. This weekend is a holiday weekend in Australia, Queen's Birthday, they are back to work next Tuesday.

Don't know if you are going to be able to send in the DS-230 ahead of time now, they are in transition and are changing their filing procedures. Read the thread DCF in Australia-New Changes and read the new instructions for filing that is now on the Sydney Embassy's website:

True, sort of. You CAN get married in the US - you jus have to do so BEFORE you file.

SACTO: Check out the new DCF requirements. That officially makes me NO LONGER A DCF helper since I don't really even understand them smile.gif

Well hopefully after a handful of us completes our DCF in Australia according to these new rules we can gather our experiences and create a new guideline to replace the old pinned one by the end of the year. Unfortunately its the rest of us that has to deal with it for now.

But this is what this website is all about anyway... the Journey, and the help you RECEIVE and GIVE along the way.

For those of you caught up in the middle of it, be patient, it will all work out. For those like myself planning for the future... keep your eyes and ears open for new developments and share them along the way.

...and Karo... you're still a DCF helper... maybe not in the process itself, but you can always be a voice of motivation and hope. You and many others are proof that DCF does work... regardless of the process.
Sacto
Thanks every one for reading and response to my thread.
Karo as David said you are still a DCF helper. You give me lots of motivation and confidence in this process.
David sounded like you and me and in the same boat. I hope we can pass along our knowledge and experiences to the new comers.
Until next time

Sacto,
complete I-130 as if you are married. You will submit it after you are married. Read each question carefully, and answer.
Is question 14 under the side that says "about you" or "about your relative"?

You are overthinking a bit, Sacto. If she didn't work, she didn't work. You can put her work experience and explain the rest of the 10 years with "in school".

You've misread the next question. She was visiting. It's not expected that she was living in the US.

Either answer for the last question has been used. It is really not critical to success; either answer is correct.

You can also find many of your I-130 + DS-230 questions answered in the CR/IR forum, if you don't find enough examples discussed in DCF. They are the same forms. smile.gif
