And what hotel or hotels are you looking at for Montreal?
Everyone mentions the La Tour Centre Ville as being reasonable and closeby the Embassy. I'm also looking at two Delta Hotels because I can use points. The Delta Centre Ville is 1 km away and the Delta Montreal is .5 km. We're months away from the interview, but I'd like it to be a romantic event in a nice place with room service.
My husband stayed at Delta Montreal 3 years ago. That's the one on President Kennedy. He liked it, although they had some problems with the hot water in the first room they put him in. When he complained, they quickly moved him to another room.

Where in California will you be moving to? And what hotel or hotels are you looking at for Montreal? I don't know Montreal that well, so will have to do some research on the different hotels/motels nearby. That'll have to wait 'til the weekend...
back to sacramento, where i was born & raised...
and we're looking at Le Square Phillips ... i'm not sure if i'm going to go with my husband, as we have two small children, and flights for all of us are a bit pricey. his interview is on a friday, so he's looking to enjoy a weekend in montreal. he went to university there, so i think he's planning to hit some of his old stomping grounds.

Echomyst, my husband is in Glendale (between Burbank and Pasadena) right now. We're hoping to move though as he doesn't like the neighborhood.
According to my mom, Le Square Phillips is nice. They have big rooms and she said it's very clean. The consulate is behind this hotel.
