Currently my fiance and I are filing for a K1 visa, but our visa was being processed at Nebraska, and is now being moved to California, and just about a week or so before we were due to recieve our NOA2, so we're kind of in the dark about when it's all going to come through, but having looked, it looks like I can bring my fiance here to the UK in a little under a month.

This'd be nice for the reasons that she can earn a LOT more doing the job she does in IT here, and she can be with me in a month, instead of two or three... or god knows how long, and we can save a fair amount of money that would end up as even more when exchanged for dollars, since she was planning to come here for a year before we then move back together to the states.

So, I'm wondering if dropping the K1 and going for DCF when the time comes would affect my chances of getting the US visa approval?

And also: What would you do; stick with K1, or have your fiance come to the UK?

Thanks you.

To be eligible to file DCF in London, the USC must have been living in the UK for a substantial amount of time (2 years+ is a guideline).

Your plan is great for reuniting, and for living in the UK. It is not a faster way to the US.

If she is planning to live there, marry you, work etc for a year or so, there is nothing stopping her from filing an I-130 to the US Service Center. Then the two of you live together abroad while going through the visa porcess. The biggest issue with that is US employment when the time comes, but that can be handled.

She will also require a visa from the British Embassy in the US in order to get married in the UK.

Wow... yeh, that's too long.

Ok, thanks a lot.
