Thank you Peter...
I was reading the forum and came across this great info you provided and I finally know that my packet was received in Havana...
They still haven't notified my fiance but at least now i know where I'm standing..
It's hard when weeks go by and you don't even know what is going on with your case..
I called NVC and they said my package was shipped on May 22,2006 the info. you provided is great...!!!

Hi guys,
The NVC automated system told me the they send me the package on May 9th. But I can not find it on www.dhl.com. I think today June 7th should be enough time for them to received the package.
I called the NVC and talked to an operator and they told me they can not do anything. That I should contact my embassy and ask them.
I called the embassy and they told me I have to wait more... I saw that DHL delivers in only 72hrs.
Any idea?
Thanks...

Hi,
I have not received any letter from NVC, but even when I do they will not provide me with a tracking number right? I basically have to call them and ask them when the paperwork shipped and use that as a guide on DHL.com. I won't really know that it is my packet that they received at the embassy right? I just have to put 2 and 2 together.
How did you figure this out? I am approaching 2 weeks since my petition was approved and if I don't get a letter soon I am going to be back in that desperate no-man's land of not knowing if something is amiss. If and when I call NVC this will bring me GREAT peace of mind. I can track it and know when they get the packet in Nicaragua. Then the cycle will start all over again.
Thank you very much.

Astro, you can call them and ask if they've already gotten it. If they have, you'll have to give them the receipt number (WAC). Also, you can get to know your new number case (that is used by the consulate or embassy) and when it was sent there (if they've already done it).

Please can someone tell me where I am going wrong?

Here are the tracking instructions which I used - (immigrant visas are 'expedite iv section' - for non-immigrant 'expedite niv section'):
There is an easy way to 'track' any parcels sent by the NVC to various Consulates - although its not specifically for your case. It just shows when parcels were sent to your region and is a good indication for you.
Go to - www.dhl.com
Select Location - USA
Point to 'Track'
Click on 'Track by reference'
Your reference is 'expedite iv section'
enter dates From - To
Click on Track
Once your case has left the NVC - email your Consulate and ask them to let you know when they receive your case - it may take a few days for them to reply - but don't duplicate the email as they do not like this and will send you a message to that fact.
London took approx 2 weeks to appear on the list so don't worry - I believe DHL wait until they have a full package before shipping abroad. Once it arrives in the facility in that country its usually delivered in a couple of days.
Hope this helps.

Hi Seldi,
Read the original post on this thread and it gives you the details on how to track a package from NVC to the U.S. Embassy and/or Consulate in most countries. What is it that confuses you?
A lot of VJ members write to me because I have helped many in different areas of the visa process. When I address someone it is because I have told them about this or other threads and I am moving it up on the queue so that they can read them.

Hi Peter,
Since my case has been processed by the NVC I´ve seen many DHL packages being sent to Rio de Janeiro. But I called them afterwards and they told me that they hadn´t sent mine yet.
So there is not sure way of knowing wether mine has been really sent or not, correct?

do you know what i should do to get them to give my fiance or myself a date for him to pick up the packet?
any suggestions or guidance would greatly be appreciated. looks like you've gone through this part of things already.
i thank you so much.
also.. does anyone know where i can get the forms that my fiance is supposed to get on package #? i'm getting ready to find that and mail it to him myself. haha. just kiddin' but honestly if anyone has the package i'd love to have it at least to see if there's anything he can already get started on. he's already working on getting his passport and his police records to show he is clean, etc.

You can track by reference on the DHL site. where it says reference type "correspondence"
Then select the dates you think the package left NVC
Then in postal origin type NVC's zip code "03801"
this will show all packages sent out of NVC to all consulates. You can jjust scan through and note the dates for Juarez

It works like a charm, especially if you know the day the package was sent from the NVC (which you can likely get from the operator at the NVC if you call). I discovered my package was sent today. Sure enough there are two packages that were sent from the NVC to Bogota today. So, I clicked on both of them and requested notification of delivery from DHL by e-mail. Now I don't even have to check the site again...just wait for my e-mail so I know when it's time to send the necessary "packet 3" info to the embassy. Gotta love it.
