I finally received my EAD a couple of days ago.

(Originally valid for 1 year, but only 10 months left since it took them two months to get my biometrics and issue the card!)
Does it make any sence to apply for SSN now, or should I wait until after the AOS interview, which is scheduled in two weeks?
Depends if you want to start working or not.
Your birth certificate and EAD card along with Form SS-5 is all you should need to apply. However, your status still needs to be verified before you can be assigned an SSN or issued a card and I would count on the SSA office needing to send a Form G-845 to immigration to manually verify your status.
