I am supposed to travel to the US again, but this time for business (although I hope to have chance to see my wife at the weekend). Does anyone know if the immigration officers can see right away that we applied for a visa? I am afraid that they might think "he is not honest, let's send him back".

I do believe that the border patrol agent will be able to see your visa status on his/her computer.
