I've seen several posts on here talking about filling in the DS-156 online in order to generate a barcode (so that once the hard copy is received they just scan the code & do not have to type all the info in again) but all the posts have been from people who were applying for K-1 visas.

So now I'm wondering: is the online DS-156 for K-1 only? Would it be of any benefit for me to do that? I'm awaiting receipt of my packet 3, but I'm thinking about sending out the forms next week that I've already filled out. Should I do the online DS-156 or just fill out the .pdf one?

Has any K-3 applicant here filled out the online form??

I don't really see anything that would make it hostile to K3 people. Looks like it's pretty much just bio data. If their form generates something that looks decent (no words cut off, etc), then why not just keep that it gives you? It looks a bit ugly, but I guess that's what they want. ttyl,
