Is this needed when filing the initial K1 paperwork or when one goes to K1 interview?

A friend of mine is filing and she needs to know and when I filed this form was not required. Thanks for all responses.

Mawnin Jonesie, to add to what TL said, the form is REQUIRED at the interview. I think we paid about $5500/JD for it and you apply for it at the RGD in the parish your friend lives in. Make sure she goes and pick it up. I had some friends that had problems when they asked to have it sent to their local post office.

Yep. My suggestion is to do it as soon as they find out they are approved. It takes a little while to get.
