Hi Everyone,

I got a letter today for the Biometric appointment for both AOS and EAD, could anyone please tell me when I would get permission to work? Or is that like asking when will it rain lol.

Its worse than asking when it will rain...

It's more like asking when it will rain at the same time that people sprout wings and fly and dogs and cats become friends.

In another words it could take any time at all and there are no guarantees. I think its best to count on it taking the full 90 days or more and being prepared for an infopass on the 91st day. That way anything else is just a bonus and a nice suprise!!

Good luck!!

Count on about 90 days since filing...

Thanks everyone, so does it come after the Biometrics? I think that is what I wanted to know??

Yes, it will come after the biometrics.

Should I start to count since which date:
- the date it shows on the NOA1 that they received the papers (mine shows May 14th), or
- the date of the NOA1 (notice of action)(mine shows May 19th)????????????

This is an estimate, no one knows how fast an individual application will be processed. I just meant to say not to get your hopes too high. The EAD does come *after* biometrics, but you don't know how much time the wait will be.

I know, I know... What I meant was: I would like to know when I can get the interim EAD infopass appointment, if it doesn't get approved by the 90th day. I have a difference of 5 days between the receive date and the NOA1 date.
Hope its clear now... wacko.gif Sorry, it was my fault...

Hey there

You start the count from the date on the NOA1, if you have not heard from them by day 90 then you can have an infopass appointment.
They wont deal with you untill that date but you can however book the appointment 2 weeks before the 90 days are up you just have to make the actual appointment for day 91+. (sorry if that sounds confusing but it makes sense as I write it but it dont look right when down in words blink.gif)

Don't count on anything...don't even count on getting it the 91st day at an infopass, speaking only from experience.

For the date you are eligible for an interim EAD, you count from the receipt date, not the NOA date. The receipt date is on your NOA letter, and preceeds the NOA1 date by 3-5 days.
