Hi Everyone,

My fiancee and I are in the final steps before the wedding. In order to obtain a Marriage license you the non US Citizen needs to have a passport and birth certificate. The birth certificate needs to be translated and notarized. He is fluent in English, so is he able to translate it himself and then we get it notarized? Or do we have to go to go to a Notary Public who translates it and notarizes it. PLEASE I am open to any feedback.

THANKS!!!!! helpsmilie.gif

you canīt translate it yourself.

you need to find someone authorized to do so.

Most states do not ask for a birth certificate if your passport has the date of birth (and what passport doesn't?) We didn't have to provide one in Florida, my fiance just used her Colombian passport - double check with the local court/office. Good Luck
