I agree it is depressing, but the good news is, back in March, that list used to be about double and almost everyone who is or was in AP have gotten visas within 6-8 months.

I honestly hope that we will all be ok, and survive this hard test of God.

Has anyone called the DOS lately? Someone in the African Sub Sahara said she called frequently and randomly talked with kind people who offered her information. When I call, I get someone who is curt. I will call again next week, but they make me not want to call.

I call every week. Sometimes I get a nice person, sometimes I get a rude person. Within the last 6 weeks it seems that the DOS has changed their system so that the people answering the phone can only see the status of the case and nothing more. Earlier this summer I got a really nice woman who had told me that an update had been made to my case at the end of May (we went on AP for security clearance April 29th). Since that time I have not been able to get any more information.

I called today and was just told my case is pending basically the case is open and being worked on LOL Its so unfair we can not get more information.

i called today since its been end of 4 weeks since my husbands interview,

and the officerhad told us 4-6 weeks are needed to review the case..

so DOS person said that ur case is under review, so i said is it waiting to be reviewed or its being reviewed, so they said its being reviewed i asked them what was the reason for this, they said just a standard review thats all the info i got

ya i also called DOS today... my case was out of ap just to be thrown right back in...when will it ever end???

I am very sorry to hear that. I told my husband we shouldn't even think about the visa and hopefully time will pass without too much stress. I am going to busy myself with planning a trip to go see him about March LOL when the snow is gone.

My wife's interview date is coming up. I am so nervous about this AP thing. Thats Bullshit man! I pray everyone gets thru this ASAP. AP really sux.

just an update to my case... i just called DOS and she said they just received my info last week... ( basically 1 month went to waste - hubys interview was on july 28 08 in chennai, and it took DOS a month to get our info)

she was a nice lady, God bless her.. usualy they dont give you any info.. and i said whats the reason for it? since i was present with him at the interview and it went well, and we were not asked for any additinal docs.. she said oh everyone goes thru this review after 9/11.. so i said basically name check, background check?
she said yup exactly!

so i was so hapy to get some info, rest is in God's hands.. and may everyones AP speed up, and may soon be with our spouse...

just wanted to post as an update to my case..

i also plan to call chennai embasy tonight (their morning) and see what they say..

anyone else get any updateS?

Sorry about your AP thing. My wife's interview is on Sep 8th. She is from Hyderabad, India. I hope it goes well. I might join you guys on this list haha.... I am preparing myself.

Congrats Sahil! It looks like your wife's visa was approved at the interview and she received the visa 2 days later. This thread is actually for couples who are going through AP (Administrative Processing). Hopefully we'll have some good news like yours soon!

This whole process saddens me. The joy waiting for the NOA1 and each step that follows until the interview then its just stabbed me in the heart. AP is most helpless feeling. Nowhere to turn no answers just a waiting game. I contacted my senator and he responded that he had contacted the appropriate officials at the U.S. Consulate in Kiev Ukraine to express his interest in my case. And he would be in touch as soon has he received a response. It was a nice letter but that will prabably be the end of that. Anyway my husband said not to contact anyone else because they are going to do what they want to in their on time and I agree.
I wish we could see positive post from people that get off of AP and the results. Hopefully soon we will all have good news at least by Feburary 2009 I am putting alot of faith in the FBI's timeline I hope I wont be dissappointed.

It saddens me to see the AP list growing and as Revived and the Pacific get near their year mark they have nothing positive or hopeful to post We all need to see a case finish the AP that will give hope to us all
