Full Version: H-1B visa holder marrying US citizen

Hi. Sorry if this is not in the right forum. I tried to find the most relevant one.

I am a citizen of the UK, currently working in the US on an H-1B visa. My visa status will expire in Oct. 2009 (at which point it will be at the 6 year limit and cannot be extended further).

My fiancee is a US citizen and we currently live together in NY. We are planning to get married in a couple of months.

Can I confirm what procedure we should follow after our marriage, in order for me to obtain a green card and to continue working at my company? Is the following correct?

1. My wife should file I-130?
2. At exactly the same time, I should file I-485, I-765, I-864, G-325 & I-693?

Did I miss any forms out? Should I attach a copy of the I-130 to my application?

Is this a relatively straightforward process, or should I be concerned about the timeframe, given that my visa status will expire in Oct. 2009?

Thanks for any help.

There is a guide for this:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...page=i130guide2

1) YES,
2) YES. I-485 is "A" based on pending I-130, and I-765 is (c )(9 ) based on pending I-485.
