Well there I was this morning driving to the animal shelter where i volunteer and i was on a straight 30mph road coming out of town. I was in the fast lane and there were 2 lanes. This stupid old woman in a lincoln pulled out right between another car in the slow lane and smacked my camaro. My car then ricocheted like a pinball off another car in the slow lane. mad.gif

That second car drove off so i guess he has warrants for his arrest or no insurance or something. Police and ambulance came. no serious injuries thankfully. i have a seatbelt welt across my chest and my neck got jarred but i wouldn't let the paramedics take me to hospital...no point.

We just went last week and had me put on the insurance policy and my card hadn't came through the mail yet, so i was bricking it. However the police called my ins. co. and they verified me so that was cool and also verified that my uk license was valid. I am raging because I haven't ever had an accident and also we just paid off the car only last friday rolleyes.gif

The car will need a new bumper and paint job done, steering needs aligned and the trunk is sitting skewed. Will cost her insurance company a couple of thousand bucks.

Older people really should have to take a driving test at some elderly age because some of them are just a danger on the roads to others.

anyhow that was my experience of a texan car accident. The officer when he was leaving called to me "welcome to texas"!

Glad to hear you weren't badly hurt! Cars and stuff can be replaced, but you can't. Cheesy, I know but nonetheless true.

I was hit head on from an elderly gentleman driving on the wrong side of the road. I was going around a curved road, so I didn't even see him. He plowed right into me head on. And he changed my life.

Don't get me wrong, I'm great now.....Can't complain about a thing *thank God* but it was a looooooong road which entailed $900,000 of debt, and near death!

so count your blessings!!! You're ok! THANK GOD! That's what's most important

Yeh Gary's mom of 84 scares the whole darn town, she just has tunnel vision and sees nothing around her! Around where we live there are alot like that, I can't believe they don't retest at 80 unsure.gif

Glad to hear that your just bumped and bruised from the crash. Like the others said it is unfortunate but the car can be repaired or replaced where as your more precious. Maybe, they will take the license away from the older lady now a little move but late. Take care.

glad ur ok. I was in an accident in 2000, totalled off my brand new integra. My kneck was a bit stiff but didnt goto the hospital. Wish I had though because in the coming days it got a bit worse and when I did goto the Military hospital ( I was in the Navy) they thought I was faking it!! I was pissed, lol and hurting!! Hope u fair well.

Aww thanks everyone heart.gif

I got the first quote this morning for repair and we are looking at around $3000. from the report, it says the bumper, rear lift gate, energy absorber, lights, rear and side body panels, impact bar need replaced and other bits need repaired...a full week estimated to repair it and we can't be without a car ahhh. More damage than what I thought but I know nowt about cars!

Damage to me is less than the car and easier fixed ha! Discovered bruises all over my legs from slamming them against the steering column, as well as a fooked up neck and shoulder and a seatbelt welt across my chest that looks like i have been scalped with a leather belt. Still I'm very happy that I'm here to tell the story and now I'm going to stop procrastinating and actually finish off sorting out my aos evidence! laughing.gif
