I have IR1. I arrived at JFK airport on June 08,2008. I fill I-94 form but immigration did not stamp my visa for allowing to work ( Is it necessary ) and they did not take my I-94 form, I asked : Why they did not give me the part of I-94 ? They said because I have IR1 - Is it true?

I am stil waiting for my Green card, Can I apply for SSN without my I-94 and my passport stamp for work?

You can make an Infopass appointment and get the passport stamped. Then, you can take the passport with the stamp to SSA to get SSN.

Or you can wait for your permanent resident card to arrive and take that to SSA

My visa has a I-551 stamp evidencing permanent residence for one year but immigration only stamp the day I arrived and wrote my green card number. Can I work with this situation? or I have to wait till my SSN arrive. Thanks

Technically, yes, but it might be hard to find someone that will hire you without an SSN.
