My wife came up on a K1, we got married and are doing the AOS "thing". However, she is bored to tears at home all day. We are thinking of Cosmetology as a way of giving her something to do and keep her mind busy. It is a private school and they require minimal documentation (SS card which she has) etc.

As long as she doesn't work until her EAD arrives, there should be no problems, correct??

Thank in advance!

I did a google search :

The only issues I saw wee the tuition rates. She should be good to go. She should learn pedicures and manicures. They make pretty good money. The only potential drawback is the exposure to the chemicals.

Nah, no problems - she should go to school.

Thanks for the info!

She's going to learn the whole thing from shampoo's to manicure, pedicure, cutting, coloring, chemicals, facials, etc, etc.

It's about $6000, but it will give her something to do all day when I am at work and once she gets her EAD, she can start earning her own money (important to her).

Thanks again!

Yes, the $6000 covers everything. 1600 hours of training & education and all necessary materials for the course (wigs to practice on, blow dryer, curlers, 2 electric clippers, uniform, etc etc ). It does not cover the cost to take the test to become licensed in my state but I think that is only like $15 or so...
