I just watched a very good documentary on midwives training for surgical skills to combat the mortality rate for mother and child.
I hope you can watch it in your area, check for listings.

Thanks for sharing
I watched a documentary a few weeks ago about midwives in the US. It will be interesting to see one on another country.

I almost became a doula once, but the hours where whenever the babies decided to come and I didn't want to be available 24/7.

I watched the documentary last night on PBS. It was on something called Wide angle or Wide lens... something like that. I am glad I caught it when it first came on. It was very enlightening too. I love watching stuff like that, especially when it comes from African countries. I have lots of compassion on mother and babies. That documentary gave me a reason to continue my education in that same field. It was right on.

Wasn't it awesome ? It is wonderful how this simple idea is saving thousands of babies and mothers in emergencies.
