The same as before dmartmar. Nothing has really changed. Thats why I am looking to the AP, maybe it can help me out. As soon as I can I make an infopass and go to Cleveland, they r going to hear our voice in a little bit. I swear.

Maria,

The AP is good for a year and is either a single entry or multiple entry permit. Mind you the PERMIT is valid for a year, but I do NOT believe the AP is intended to give you leave for a year.

Here is an excerpt from the AP instructions specifically:

QUOTE
Advance parole is an extraordinary measure used sparingly to bring an otherwise inadmissible alien to the United States for a temporary period of time due to a compelling emergency. Advance parole cannot be used to circumvent the normal visa issuing procedures and is not a means to bypass delays in visa issuance.

I am under the impression the AP is not intended that you be out of the country for a year. It is intended for travel as a normal resident/citizen would make, as in, don't be gone longer than a normal vacation. I am not sure what is the *actual* acceptable time frame to be gone.

Please be sure to read the guides as it will give you all the information you need to make the decision best for you.
