Hi Everyone,

I'm approved!! kicking.gif It all went really well! I was up by 6, my Dad dropped me off at the Consulate by 7am, I was the first one there! I figured it would be more noticeable, there isn't a flag or anything to show it's the Consulate! Anyway, a nice guy came a few minutes after me, he was so nervous!! I asked him if he knew about VJ and he didn't (poor guy) so I explained a few things to him that I've learned on here and told him to check out the site! By 7:30 they opened the doors, asked for my passport and appt letter, and I got letter "B"... the guy behind me had a bag (laptop-style bag) and inside has all his paperwork, the security guard wouldn't let him in! So he had to go and bring his bag back to the hotel, but he told me later he actually just threw it out! After I went through security I went downstairs and sat until the guy took a few of us up in the elevator... as everyone says, the view is amazing on the 19th floor! So I went in this room with the booths and gave the person my appt letter, then went and sat back in the waiting room... then they called me to window #9, it was a lady who asked me a few basic questions (where we met, etc) but she wasn't the one doing my interview... I gave her ALL my docs, birth cert. & copy, police cert, I-134, all of Glen's pay stubs & tax return from last year, medical results, passport photos, passport! I think that was it... then I went and paid $131 USD obtained the receipt... then waited again... the same lady called me back to window #9 to confirm all the info on my forms were correct, and to take my fingerprints... the fingerprint machine wasn't working (she was getting so annoyed!) so we moved to the next window... took my fingerprints, then sat down and waited again... it honestly felt like forever, but it was only about 1/2 hour of waiting until I was called to room #7, which is like a private room.... there was a nice gentleman behind glass (I was surprised you stand I figured they would have a chair for you LOL) and he asked how Glen and I met, what we both do for a living, when we became engaged, asked me a bit about his family... looked over my original evidence of pictures, etc. but didn't ask for any new evidence which I had... he asked when the wedding was and then made me raise my right hand to confirm I was telling the truth.... then he said you are approved! He actually said "well Jill, I'm going to go ahead and issue your Visa"!! He didn't ask if I had any questions but I didn't anyway!! Then he said he will try and have it in the post by tomorrow, so I hope to get it Monday!! Oh he also asked if Glen was with me but I explained he couldn't get off work... I left, and was out by 9:10!! I ran to the nearest payphone and called Glen right away, he was ecstatic!! SO all in all it went great, and I am SO HAPPY!! I took the bus back to my Dad's and now I can relax and enjoy the rest of my weekend in Montreal with my family!

Thanks everyone,

Jill

Congratulations!!
My room had a chair and I sat for most of my interview until he asked me to raise my hand! I didn't think until afterwards maybe it wasn't so polite to sit but my guy didn't say a thing and beamed at me the whole time! LOL

smile.gif Best of luck!
