Hi everyone,

As you may know, round trip plane tickets can be much less expensive than one way tickets. When my family is FINALLY able to move over here, do you think they might run into trouble with the US Customs people when they arrive if they have round trip tickets?

I was thinking it would be better to just get round tickets and toss the return tickets out after the trip because it would be cheaper.

thanks

Your family will not even be asked to show tickets... do what is cheapest!

I agree with fwaguy, do what is cheapest. I had return tickets and I was never asked about what type of ticket I flew over on.

I just came some days ago from Lima - Peru. i spent at least 2 weeks looking for the cheapest option. i used to travel on continental before and this time i realized that it was a expensive option. and one way tickets are at least 30% more expensive than round trip!!!! that is crazy!!!!!

then i choose Spirit. the difference between one way and round trip is about 10 dolars so i chose spirit, then a domestic flight through southwest and saved like 600 bucks compared to continental!!!

my advice is play with the dates. some dates are more expensive than others, play with the return date too despite you wont use it. invest some time on it and you should be able to save some money. about the return ticket... the worst that will happen is that you will loose it.

good luck!
