Steps

1) Reach departure airport at least 3 hours early

2) Check-in luggages screening

3) Airport Check-in
a) Present Passport
b ) Present e-ticket itinerary
c) Ask for window seats
d) Get boarding pass
e) Make sure you collect the passport back
f) Check-in the large luggages (make sure the weight is below the allowed while packing)
g) Keep the hand luggage with you (carry all documents in the hand luggage)

4) Hand luggage screening/security check

5) Then proceed to the departure gate specified on the boarding pass

6) Sleep, Read, Listen to music, Watch Video, Drink and Eat !!!

7) U.S POE Landing
a) Complete Arrival-Departure Card (I-94) 30 min. before landing in New Jersey
b ) Complete customs declaration form - declare $0 and no food items

8) After landing, Proceed to the immigration at Green Card/Citizens line

9) U.S Port of Entry (POE) interview with the Officer
a) Present Passport
b ) Present Sealed Envelope
c) Present I-94 Arrival-Departure Card
d) Present Customs declaration form
e) Answer the questions asked properly and politely
f) Complete the fingerprinting and the photo capture at POE

10) Proceed to collect the check-in luggages

11) Proceed to exit and hand over the customs declaration form to the customs officer

12) You are out, look at your impatient spouse at the arrival hall (I don't write the remaining steps here!)

The visitor or the carrier representative must complete both sections of CBP Form I-94 upon arrival in the United States. The bottom section of CBP Form I-94 is a departure record and must be returned to U.S. officials upon exiting the United States

Chintan, I-94 is to be completed by only non-immigrant visa holders. Our beneficiaries need not to fill it since they are immigrant visa holders. The correction is needed in my checklist.

Why do you delay the POE so much after the interview ???

I think the concensus is correct - no I-94 for IV holder ... Are we sure they can go to the USC/PR line?

I would love to be with my husband sooner but there's so much stuff to be done at home before I leave.

By the time all that needs to be done actually gets done, it is already Ramadhan and I might as well spend Eid with my family. Im leaving the second week of Eid.

I just called Fathima and she is about to start from the home in another 1/2 an hour I asked her to report the airport at least 2.5 hours before the departure So, it is going to be 28 hours from door to door

I had 2 calls from Fathima. The departure from Mumbai is around 2:00PM. The delay is 6.5 hours... She promised she would call me just before the departure and make me awake at night at 3AM

Even I don't like AI too. Only reason I booked here was just the convenience of the timing from Cochin to the U.S. Their food is also horrible, just below the average restaurant quality, and the air hostess are well over (AI increased their retirement age to 80 years of age) the retirement...
