Hi! Just wondering if there is someone out there that has gone through Ankara, that can give me an idea on how long it takes for the medical. My husbands interview is on a Tuesday, so does he need to have his medical on maybe a friday? How long does it take for them to do the medical and give you the results? helpsmilie.gif

You need to get this medical done as quickly as possible being that you're cutting it close to the interview date. Call them first to see if you still need to make an appointment and try to go in before Thursday and let them know that his interview is next Tuesday so not to delay anything.

Here is the link for medical doctors doing the medical for visas:

Good Luck to you both

Thanks Mina76!! I will let him know.

You think he should go a week prior to his interview? That will be a long stay in Turkey!

Sorry, didn't see you other post for your interview date being that of June 6 and the way I read this one here it seem like it was going to be next Tuesday blush.gif

Either way I still think that your husband should try to get his medical done soon so not to delay anything, best to be prepared and ready ahead of time star_smile.gif

With regard to the medical in Ankara. They say that if you are in good health, if they do your exam in the morning, they can have the results by the evening of the same day. They do suggest however 3 working days prior to the interview. My fiancee has an appontment 2 working days prior (mostly due to flight scheduling).

Darstar! Thanks! Thats perfect! My husband was planning on having to stay about 10 days. So I think if he has his medical on Friday, that should give ample time. Ah! Now the nervousness sets in lol laughing.gif

Are you having the medical done at the Ungan family practice listed on the Embassy website?

Not sure which one he is going to. Is that the one you would suggest?? He is going to call tomorrow and get his flight set up then call and make the appt. kicking.gif

Oi! I am so nervous about the I-864!! I only made 19k last year, but make 26k this year...hopefully they don't make me get a co-sponsor.

I really don't know which doctor is best, but that is the first one listed by the Ankara Embassy. They are located right next to it and they have an online appt. system.

I'm lucky to not need a co-sponsor. If I were you though, I'd be prepared for such a request. It seems pretty common from what I've read on the forums. Here's hoping you don't though.

Last I heard, the 125% of poverty level was around $16,000 a year. I asked them this question when I was discussing the possibility of moving to Turkey to work last year, to be with my wife during her 2 years HRR there. So, if I am recalling correctly, $19,000 is more than enough, and even better now that you make $26,000.

We don't have kids......if you do, then the scale might be different.

I wish you luck.

Thanks for the info MPGGPM!! Hopefully I won't need a co-sponsor! I don't have anyone that can do it. We would end up having to wait another year! crying.gif It will just be the 2 of us. I only made 19k last year because I was overseas with him! Maybe it will help a little that I work a state/government job. I certainly hope so!
