I was wondering if along with this im supposed to send my original birth certificate? i've seen that some people have sent, and some have not. and im just not sure if this is a requirement or not.

No, you do not need to send your birth certificate. You had already proven with your I-130 and G-325A that you are an American citizen or permanent resident. A birth certificate is only needed if you are using a joint sponsor, or the income from someone else in your household to meet poverty guidelines.

Oh and to be more specific... You would need the joint sponsor's birth certificate, not yours.
