I called the DOS today and they told me the security checks were finished and there were no hits on his name. That said they just must be verifying something in his paperwork. My guess is the school/military info on the DS-157. Good news!!!

Great news! I hope they get him stamped quickly! In january the told me the same thing but by the time the embassy got to the case, the checks expired and I am still waiting on my husband's visa. If they had done it in time, it would not have been 10 months of AP as it is now. So heads up, e-mail the consulate and let them know you are serious about this and e-mail them and request they issue the visa quickly.
