Hi! am new here.

I plan to apply for a tourist visa by end of the month or first week of August. I will stay at my bf's house. Need help on what to do or what docs to prepare.

Me and my bf is getting married but we don't want to avail of the fiancee' visa coz we don't have a definite date yet for our wedding.

We've been together for more than 3 years and have never seen each other yet in person. But some people told me I can get a tourist visa to be able to see my bf.

can anyone share any infos that can help me?

thanks in advance.

I believe you cant apply for K1 unless you have seen each other.. but you can apply for a tourist VISA as long as you dont intend to stay there illegally.. you should not get married there yet.. just be honest with your purpose in going there. proof of ties like certificate of employment.. maybe bank records to show youcan support your stay in the US..,

Just always be truthful, if they gave the visa to you.. Then its meant.. if not then your BF should visit you in your place..

I wont apply for K-1 coz we dont want to be pressured in getting married. We will marry but there's no definite time yet.

But just in case we get married there, will there be any problem?

Yes you asked for a visitors visa and you are planning to stay and immigrate which is fraud and you can be banned from staying here.

I applied for a tourist visa in June 2006 to see my boyfriend but I was denied. The address I placed on my form was my boyfriend's address. And the interviewing consul asked me whose address it was. And then he said, "just let him visit you", and my passport was returned to me.

My advise to you is this ... if you can find someone else you can stay with, i believe it will be better. I will never advise you to lie and tell them that you are staying somewhere else if you really plan to stay in your boyfriend's house.

Consuls will always be suspicious of applicants, even if their intentions are good. They are more wary of women like you who are single, most especially if they find out that you are going there to meet your boyfriend.

But then, if it is God's will, it will happen. I was also told that it is easier now to get a tourist visa, so this is kinda encouraging.

Hope this is of some help to you.

God bless.

From my research for PI person to get a Tourist Visa to USA :

You need substantial assets in the bank, Own property in PI.

I understand it is difficult to get a Tourist Visa

There were ppl who told me that my bf can request for me to come and visit. All we need to do is to show proof that we have a relationship. Though he is coming this August to visit. Plan is for me to go with him when he comes back in US. Not sure if i'll go back here or stay there.

I can tell you now, there is now way you will be going back with him legally. It just don't work that way

PAL in PI won't even issue you ticket without a passport and Visa in hand.

You BF can get you PAL ticket issued in USA, but you will need a Passport to leave PI.

If you arrive in USA without a Visa you will be jailed and will be banned from USA for 10 years.

I don't know about coming into USA illegally from Mexico, I do know to be an illegal alien in Mexico is a felony in Mexico.

Try Canada, they have some weird rules on immigration

Maileen
huh?

I will definitely go without a visa. I was just citing if what if we decided to get married while i am there vacationing.

I havent tried before and just decided now that it's time.

having relationship with USC and applying for tourist visa to go to US will raise serious RED FLAGS... and let's say you will be able to hurdle that and be granted a tourist visa and then go there and not return here.... well, i hope you could get lesson from this: http://media.www.usforacle.com/media/stora...e-2791062.shtml

why don't you let your bf visit you here, that way you still won't be pressured to get married and would still have the chance to get to know each other face to face? It will also prove that he is indeed serious with you coz he would be willing to risk going to a 3rd world country where news of kidnappings abound, just to see you.

anyway, if you are still decided to pursue tourist visa here's the US embassy link for tourist visa: http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwhniv7.html

EVIDENCE OF TIES: http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwhnv03.html

"Ties are the aspects of one’s life that bind him or her to his or her place of residence, including family relationships, employment and possessions. In the case of younger applicants, who may not have had an opportunity to establish such ties, interviewing officers may look at educational status, grades, the situation of their parents, and the applicant's long-range plans and prospects in the Philippines."

As others have said, it is difficult to obtain tourist visa but well, you would never know unless you try.

Good luck.

"Finally, many people who intend on marrying in the United States try to obtain a tourist visa to enter the U.S. since the time it takes to obtain a tourist visa may be much less than that of a fiance visa. However, if someone marries while visiting you on one of those visas, their legal status in the USA will be questionable, and they may be refused permanent resident status on the basis of visa fraud if Immigration Services believes that their aim of visiting United States was simply for marrying a U.S. Citizen." : http://www.uslaw.com/bulletin/bringing-you...the-us.php?p=58

For your sake and for your future's sake, I hope you will not risk going there and then getting married on a tourist visa.

I hope you will consider dbears advice to avoid being charged of visa fraud. For instance you are granted a tourist visa and eventually married your BF, USCIS will investigate the circumstances of your marriage/relationship when you apply for adjustment of status. Any untold info may turn out, it may jeopardize your application. You may be denied and deported to the Philippines.

Your bf will visit you next month, why dont you see things from there? If you realize you want to be married to him, well then, apply for K1 or K3 visa.
Goodluck! May you find the answers you are looking for. God bless you.
Maileen
oh okay. Thanks for the info.

That's why i asked to make sure what to do.

Thanks again. And God bless too to all.
