My Sweetie has been sick and has not been well enough to go to an internet cafe for us to fill out the forms. Is it permissible for me to fill out the forms and save the final file and email it to her and when she is well enough she can just print it out? Time is getting short and we are so anxious for interview day. WOOHOO.

Also, Place of issue for passport. Sweetie went to the DFA which is in Pasay, part of Manila. What is the proper response on DS156 for place of issue?

Thank you

The DS forms can be saved but sadly, not the data that you will type in it so you can't fill it in for her, she would need to do it herself. When will your interview be?

Absolutely! In fact, I filled out all of the forms for us. My wife was my executive team (my red team) reviewing all the forms and highlighting all of the corrections that needed to be made. In addition, she organized the documents in preparation for the visa interview. It was our one-two punch strategy that worked out pretty well.

Cheers!!!

The data that you will fill on those forms cannot be saved. So, it's not possible that you do it yourself, save and send it to her. Just wait for her to get well. It will only take her a few minutes to get it done.

Good luck on her interview. She'll do great good.gif

Interesting, so there is no "secret" information in the barcode of the form that will make anyone say "AH HA, Gotcha"?

Thank you very much for your response.

WOW! You were able to save the data on the DS forms? How come I tried saving it many times as I had to go to a friend's house to print it out and was trying to save time by filling the forms on my PC and saving it on my USB stick but it came up empty forms when i opened it for printing. I also tried saving it on hard drive but when i opened the DS156K and DS157 it was still empty.

at the top of the DS forms there is a note that says:
Please fill out the following forms. You can not save data typed into this form.
Please print your completed form if you would like a copy for your records.

i
was able to save empty forms of DS156K and DS157 but was never able to save form DS156 empty or not. sad.gif

hmm, maybe there are some tricks to saving a completed form that we don't know or maybe the older versions could be saved but not the latest versions. unsure.gif

well, good luck TexPamp, hope you could really find a way to save the data that you will be typing on the forms and pls do share it here, it will surely help others who don't have printers at home.

What you can do is print out the filled-out forms, leave a field blank if you're not sure what to put on it, scan the print out (make sure everything is clear and readable) then send the file over to your fiance so she could double-check accuracy of details inputted and be able to provide answers on the blank fields as well. after which, you can download a free trial version of adobe photoshop so you can edit and complete the file. for DS 156 make sure you you got the bar code. Oh and for DS 157, what i did was download the blank copy and answer all the questions via adobe photoshop as I find it difficult to key-in all my work and school details because the characters on the online form is limited.

Hope this helps. Goodluck and God Bless.

I couldnt save the ds 156k and ds 157 forms! I could save the filled out ds 156 though. Hmmm..maybe you can do what cass did. Use adobe photoshop. Goodluck!

When will be your interview schedule? When did you pay for the document verification?

May God be with your honey during the interview. good.gif

I downloaded Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended trial version and I was able to save the files and I did a test to my yahoo and viewed the file on my laptop and it worked. Right on, making progress now, all Sweetie has to do is print. Is it really necessary to print the DS156 back to back or can she just print the 3 pages seperately?
