After a two year wait to get through the infamous name-check, I had my N-400 interview in June 2008. The interview went smoothly and at the end of the meeting the IO gave me a paper stating that I would recieve a written decision from USCIS.

One week later I get a letter asking additional evidence. I sent the docs a few days later. My question is, when the USCIS recieves the docs do they send an acknowlegement that they have recieved the paperwork? Or do I just get the decision letter?

Thanks!

If you applied for the three year marriage waiver, can't be proof of your marriage that you were requested to send, you already waited five years. Could be your lack of evidence is the reason for the two year wait, officer shook his head and put your application in a stack and will get at it later. Who knows how long it will take with the USCIS? My crystal ball has a crack in it.
