My wife has no credit history, and due to a previous divorce my credit got trashed. How can she get a credit file started? Where is the best place to apply? Thank You!!

Just apply for a credit card, I got my SSN as a student and started my credit history by applying for a Bank of America card.

If you can't get a regular credit card get a secured one. You have to deposit money in a savings account to back the card but it is reported to the credit companies so you build history. Sears used to be an easy card to get if the banks don't like you.

I opened a savings account and got me a secured credit card through BOA. It worked fine. I don't like BOA's services but it served the purpose at that time.
