My hubby usually eats his watermelon with salt and lemon juice...
I am just wondering how common this is and why the heck do people put salt on their watermelon anyways...

There was no option for "soak in vodka first, leave the salt out."
I only put salt on tomatoes and grapefruit.

I don't like watermelon in its natural state and cannot imagine that salt would improve it. That sounds extra yucky to me.

I've eaten watermelon with feta cheese, which is salty, but no I don't salt the slices themselves before eating. Though I can see how that combination may be palatable to some.

I've never heard of putting salt on watermelon and it sounds gross. I don't even like watermelon anyway...
I know people who put chili powder on fruit and say it's good. I doubt it.

when I make fruit salad sometimes.. basically just a bunch of fruit cut up and put in a bowl.. he will put lemon juice and some kind of Mexican chili-lemon powder stuff on his...

i guess everyone has their different tastes...
yeah I usually eat mine with cool whip... or just plain...
I have never heard of salt on it! I am unsure if I would try it though.

I love it both ways. Its great alone or with lime, salt, and chili. As a matter of fact, I like to eat mangos and cucumbers that way too! Oh and Jicama! mmmmmmmm now I want some...time to go to the flea market! Oh and Corn is good like that too!

I love cantelope with prosciutto which is very salty....but I've never even heard of salt on watermelon...

Always used salt, I just think it brings out the sweetness of the melon, especially if it isn't an especially sweet one.
