I'm a watermelon-salter.
Note: I NEVER put salt in a lot of things... only on watermelon and other melons -- it does bring out the sweetness!

I've never tried...I do have watermelon here at home. Maybe I'll try it just to say I have, but I am not expecting to like it.

Ok, I tried it. It made the watermelon actually taste sweeter. But it's not something I would do because it seems to ruin that watermelon is healthy by putting salt all over it.

And it's not big enough of a difference to me to add salt.

I did too...lol. I thought it made it juicier. Who knows. I kind of felt guilty doing it though. My husband likes pepper on his. Weirdo.

its called maceration... like adding sugar to strawberries... the salt draws out water, which makes it juicier and concentrates the sweetness... its all good!
if you watch your sodium intake in other things, a little bit of salt with watermelon won't make it unhealthy... everyone needs some sodium

I tried it at the Mexi markets on the weekend - watermelon with salt, lime juice and chili - it was unbeliveably good. The watermelon felt much more watery and refreshing in my mouth.

No salt.
The first time I saw someone salt fruit, I was like:
I assumed it was a southern thing, since I'd never seen it in my life until I moved to Kentucky

Watermelon is one of our favorite fruits..
One of my girl buddies loves it too. So everytime we are sharing watermelon, we need to cut it in half because she loves salt and i hate it..
