I already have a green card and am planning to go out of country for more than a year. I understand I have to file I-131 for re-entry permit. Is it true that I will also have to get fingerprints? Also, does anyone know how long the approval process takes for I-131?

It's my understand you have to apply for a re-entry permit, I don't know about fingerprints though. If you're gone more than a year with your GC however, it's going to affect at some point your naturalizing in the future.
