Firstly sorry if this is a repeat question but I've trawled through the search and not come up with my specific answer.

So I've got the point that you can go for this seminar before receiving the visa, you get the certicate and then just go back and get the sticker....BUT can you go while you are awaiting document verification when the embassy holds your passport?

Many thanks in advance of the VJ oracles delivering me the answer star_smile.gif

Yes! My wife did it successfully... With the visa stage of the process, results may vary. There are inconsistancies because folks that work in various aspects of the visa stage do not understand the process. For more information, please read Section 6.2 of the Manila Embassy K1 Visa Guide.

Good luck and Cheers!!!

Yeah i'd read that which is what motivated me to ask the question because 6.2 only stated you didn't have to have a visa. The CFO web site has number one requirement to be an "Original valid passport". Sorry to be fussy and to question you but you're saying your wife did it successfully without a visa AND NO PASSPORT?

Cheers matey!

You may as well have her wait and do it all in the same day after she gets visa in hand in the PP.

And your reasoning? We're tired of waiting, she's and her daughter are sat at home just ready to go, for one it would give her something to do.

We have a tickets bought and so the minute she has her visa she can be on a plane, be nice to have this sorted instead of pissing around with stupid government red tape yet again unless you are going to tell me she can just walk in and get it the minute her visa is in her hand...no thought not.

So no one can answer my original question then?

Hi!

I have a friend who just attended a CFO seminar here in Cebu, and she has no passport (still on the application process). So I guess, your wife can attend the Guidance and Counseling but will be back as soon as she has the passport with visa (to get the CFO stamp).

your wife can have the CFO seminar WITHOUT the PASSPORT. JUst tell them that the passport is at the embassy. Just bring proper Identification documents (and more than one too). She will be given a CFO training certificate after she attended the said seminar BUT she cannot have her passport stamped yet (because she doesnt have her passport yet smile.gif ). She needs to go to the CFO office once she receive her passport. She needs to present her CFO training certificate prior to the stamping (or gluing) of the CFO sticker.
cheers! smile.gif

I am suppose to attend the seminar without my passport but i really need to go home that time, so i just took the seminar the day before my flight to the US. But my friend who i was suppose to go with on that seminar did attend the seminar without passport with no fuss. What documents she brought with her ? i'll ask her again and post it here. smile.gif

Yes Mely did her counseling at SMEF-COW and got her certificate from CFO during the week between the medical and interview.(While they had her passport)

Now she just has to go back and get her stamp the day before her flight.
