I don't quit understand your question? Do you mean a marriage certificate? I don't see any timeline or any information on your case, so have you started the K-1 Visa process. If so, you both go to your local city hall and apply for a marriage license, here in Pima County all you do is take valid proof of age requirement, and sign a paper saying you don't have any sexually transmitted diseases , your not marrying a family member and pay $50. They crank out your marriage liscene which you take to your ceremony and have two witnesses sign as well as the judge or minister. Then you go back to City Court get a certified copy , which means it's noterized by a state employee, and pay another fee per copy of certified lisense.
Good luck and I hope this information helps.

I think that what you are referring to is a status of unmarried. I don’t think that you need that if you are the petitioner only the beneficiary needs that.

I read about the certificate of marriageability here:
http://www.usembassy-china.org.cn/us-citizen/mrginfo.htmla "certification of marriageability" which can be prepared at the Embassy on the basis of an affidavit in which the American citizen swears or affirms before a Consul that he or she is currently legally eligible to marry
Thanks for the help!

What is your country of non-USC? That might facilitate things as to whether you need it, where to get it, etc...

Are you applying for a K-1 Visa, cause this is posted in the K-3 Visa area which means your already married.
I know the K-1 Visa requires proof of a relationship and have met within the last two years, but we didn't need a certificate of marriageablilty..

I needed one to marry in jordan.....in the US we dont have our marriage status on our identification cards so we dont normally have any proof that we are single, but to marry in a country where they do, you sometimes need to get something to that effect. A lot of people go to the embassy in the country they are marrying in and get a certificate that declares their single status...for me, I didn't know I could do that so I (here in the US) drafted up a short statement saying that I was unmarried and legal and had nothing preventing me from marrying or something like that. I just got it notarized at a currency exchange and it was acceptable.
Good luck
oh, you asked what you need....if you are going to the embassy for this, they know that you dont have proof you are single. they ask you to swear that you are and they declare you are.
