My wife's interview tomorrow at 8:30AM, 1:30Am ET my time. A whole bottle of sleeping pills won't put me to sleep tonight LOL.

Well Loto, we are soooooo close. My wife leaves today from her home in Arequipa to go to Lima. She will pick-up the medical exam results tomorrow and then the wait is on until Thursday. I am praying that, that day will be cause for celebration. Stay calm and peace be with you, as we wait for the interviews together.

Fathima went to VFS, Chennai office again and she was told to call the VFS hotline to collect the passport over the counter. It seems it is possible in Chennai VFS too

We have another 2 more (2 days seems to be so loooooooooooooooong) days for interview

oh cool LOTO!! u mean to say u can get ur pasport back next day at VFS in chennai? if so then we wil do that too . since our lfight out of chennai is 29th night time.. so we have all day 28th and 29th in chennai after interview..

Passport collection is on the next business day after the interview. So, you can collect it (Plus a sealed envelope) on 29th between 4PM and 5PM. They'll give you their hotline# to enquire more details about the passport and the "magic" sealed envelope

I have had a chance to read a few of your posts over the past few days and also to take advantage of the wonderfully created Pre-NVC process documents. really, you have done a great job putting them together. i am sure my wife, who is patiently waiting for me in india, will appreciate your help and input very much.
given that the I-130 guru that you are , when do you think my wife should have her interview finalized and be with me forever. I am filing with the good'ol VSC and my consulate is delhi. here are my timelines. also looking at my timelines would you suggest K3 or shud i stick with CR-1?

I'm counting down the days for the interview, just 7 now...so it's excitment, fear, joy....so many feelings around this moment...we're so closed, I'm so nervous, but when I think that God knows what this is all about I feel peace, that's how I deal with this all!

CMNB , I would recommend to file K-3 also since it doesn't cost anything for you. We never know in future which will be approved first K-3 or I-130 ? However, currently it seems VSC is pushing more and more I-130 approvals than K-3.

Since, you have filed I-130 at the end of May 2008, it can take an average 6 months (could be less or more, USCIS is highly unpredicatble ). However, the good news is that NVC is super-express now and you can get out of NVC in 1.5 months time. And another 1.5 months time to schedule the interview and get the visa.

Good luck CMNB so, your wife is "patiently" waiting for visa and you are "patiently" waiting for my answer, but I didn't have patience to answer you

ok.....just got time to post now. She was there on-time and everything seemed fine. The CO officer asked all sort of questions about me and how we met and how we communicate since i never visited since we got married last august (she showed him our DAILY phone records talking on avg more than hour a day). He asked many detailed questions! she answered all ok.

Then at then end he gave her a slip asking for two things:

1. Since I was married in the past in the U.S., he wanted to see the original divorse document although he has a copy that I sent with I-130. That is something that was not requested from NVC nor did i thought they would need it. Anyway, I just got back from DHL at the airport, so the document on the way to my wife.

2. The doctor has missed one vaccination (forgot what is it called) that is required recently for ages 16 to 26. I guess the doctor wasn't thorough or he did not have an updated list, because CO told her that is a new requirment!!

They told her to send the information to the consulate and once they receive it and review it they will give her a call to have her bring her passport!

so, here is our story, not a good one today. I never though they will ask so many questions. The good thing that everything they asked her, I went over with her.

Now back to the wait mode!!!

Thanks Hyd, for me it is not over till she receives the visa. I hope that they will give it to her fast after they receive the documents they requested and NOT ask for more stuff!!

FYI,
My husband's DS-230 is still in review process.. NVC got on 25th June.. Cann't wait to hear "yes, the review has done and everything is fine" from the NVC operator..

Fathima is lot relaxed and whenever I try to increase her heart-beats, it never happens

She was shopping at Chennai with her mom yesterday... They are going to Marina beach ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marina_Beach ) today and going to my friend's home for lunch tomorrow... Completely freeking out there... In between, I will keep her reminding "AR" (Administrative Review). Then she will reply, she'll hang inside the consulate if they give her "AR". So, my consolation will be like this: it is not AR, it is CR (Conditional Residence)

she did have a copy, but they wanted to see the original. They are the same except the original will have the court stamp in blue instead.

I hope so Kalaks At least, I have given to her all my original documents except my passport. She has my passport copy only. I don't know about new medical procedure. I checked the medical procedure again and she's covered at least. So keeping my fingers crossed

I have the same problem, I last saw my husband in January 06, 2007. He's been not able to come visit me me since then, so we talk by phone, msn, emails, see each other trhough webcam every day. The other problem is that we don't have his phone records since he buys phone cards to do his calls, so I don't have this proof. I can only print our emails, but I was thinking, how should I print these emails, I have over 2000 emails back and forth, should I print 1 for each day we had in contact or 1 for each week??? There will be a big amount of paper if I have to print them all...lol...so what should I do? And of corse I have photos, thousands of them, wedding photos, honey moon, family meetings, Christmas, travels together...we bought a house in Brazil after our marriage and it is in my name and the document states his name as my spouse, so I'm taking this document too as a proof. My husband is a brazilian too, from my town, but he moved to the US 19 years ago, so he's an american citizen now), since we dated when we were teenagers (18,19 years old and I don't have photos from that time together, just a letter) and at that time he moved to the US and we lost contact for many years, but from time to time I received letters from him, even when I lived in London for 8 months back in 1991, I have this letter that I received from him there, post cards received in Brazil, etc...So in June of 2006 we met again and got married in October of this same year...I have loving notes that he used to spread hidden randomly in my home every time he was living to the US so that I was to find them after his left...
My concern is how should I print or emails? 1 per week maybe, to avoid a big amount of paper, it will be too havy and they won't have even time to read them all anyway...lol...
But, guys, my main concern and maybe my nightmare at the moment is that my husband post the 2007 tax return to me on June 24, he paid U$35 for a faster mail and so far I haven't received it yet and I will travel to Rio in 2 days on Thursday and my interview is next Monday, but I have to go on Thursday case my medical appointment is on Friday morning. To worsen the situation I've read in the today's local newspaper that post offices have started a strike today...can yo imagine this...I feel my mind is going to blow up...I was fine till yesterday hoping that this mail would arrive today and it was a normal delay...but now I don't know what to do at this point...I went to the post office today, there are some people still working and postman had left already but hasn't showed up here yet.
If I don't get this document by Thursday morning (I'll keep going to the post office till then to check), since my flight to Rio is in the afternoon and will cancel everything and will try to postpone my interview getting a interview new date from consulate. I can't think of anything else. Need your prayers!!

I don't know if their is a big emphasis on e-mail and phone records. As I was reading through the post interview experience I haven’t seen anybody saying they where asked to show the e-mail/phone record ….. this info is very crucial if you are applying for a K-1 fiancé visa but for CR-1/IR-1 … I don’t know … I am planning of screen printing the inbox page that list all the emails received form the spouse ….

Virginia, it would be good one email per week in your case. There may be a printable view link somewhere on the page to take the print out.

I don't think you should postpone your interview just for 2007 tax return docs. You have all other documents such as joint property doc, letters, emails, photos etc. He has filed I-864 and consulate will have that original too, so that will have 2007 tax details too.

Viriginia, after your fast I-130 apporval, why it took so long for you to proceed to NVC ???

LOTO, question. Do you know if the consulate will put a visa in the passport with the sealed envelop they hand out for the applicant?? Or is just the sealed envelope? Right now I can't think straight!

Kalaks A 6 months valid immigrant visa will be affixed inside the passport. Also, a sealed envelope will be provided.

LOTO in packet 4 for chennai there is a SSN form that needs to be sumitted to VFS .. what is that SSN form? my husband ask me/? i was confused

is it somethin he needs to fill out?

Hyd, that's social security number application form. It has to be completed by your husband and give to VFS/Consulate. I believe my wife carried to the consulate. Print it out 2 copies and give one to VFS and carry the second to the consulate

loto what is ur wife doing in chennai in her free time? my husband and i and inlways arrive there on 26th night time so we have all day 27th to hang out and then 28th is the interview and all evening on that day to hang out and all day 29th tohang out since our return flight to hyd is 29th evening//

any recommendations to do, since ur wife was there a good few days.. what can u shop for? nice clotheS? hows the food, i heard its all vegetarian?? i gues we wil try to make the most of our trip.. to get our minds off the interview.. LOL

Hyd , here are the activities:

1) Marina Beach
2) Shopping (dresses, kitchen utensils etc.)
3) She had to visit couple of relatives homes
4) She had to visit my friend's home
5) Dining out (Saravana Bhavan is the best, full vegetarian)
6) Went to VFS office to enquire passport counter collection
7) Went to some nearby parks, city roaming etc.
8) Sleeping and cooking at the place where she lived in Chennai
9) Interview studies (whenever I confuse her, she'll open the file for DS-230, I-864 etc. to read further )

I'll get you the shop names soon tomorrow.

There is a good snake park near IIT, Madras.
