I have a question for you.. After you came to know about your "case completed" how long after you came to know about the interview date, NVC scheulded for your case..

I want to know.. how long it will take them for my case.. just guessing the days..

I guess I missed lot of excitements at VJ in these past few days, including world cup !!

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS LOTO!!!!! That's great news!!! Hope you're both together very soon!

My wife's medical experience....

She went to mumbai for her medical. They asked for two passport size pictures, NVC appointment letter and vaccination records. She had a copy of the appointment letter that I received from NVC. They accepted it. However, they did not accept the vaccination record because it said "copied from original". The doctor asked for the original record. Since she didn't have it, she told the doctor to treat her as if she didn't have vaccination record. Then she was asked to come back later in the afternoon to pick up the medical report. She picked it up that day and it was completed.

She never got the NVC appointment letter so she picked it up from the consulate. When she went to VFS, she was asked for three passport-size pictures, and copy of DS-230 application, a copy of the NVC's appointment letter that was sent to me and original appointment letter that she picked from consulate! VFS also said it would be better if we had bank statement at the interview. Paid the courier fee and she got a receipt for it.

Now it's wait for interview!!

Haven't bought the tickets yet but planning to do it real soon.

You bet I am Excited and nervous!! I'm going to have to go through the your interview questions with my wife to see if she can answer them correctly! We have a week before the interview so I think I'll test her everyday

Personally, I don't think there was any reason for them to ask for bank statements. Usually when you submit I-864 showing your assets, then you have to submit bank statements but in my case I only filed based on income so I don't she needs it. In any case, she'll take it to the interview.

What drives me nuts is that we submitted all of these documents to NVC(some of them original documents!). NVC also confirmed in the appointment letter that they have received these documents. But still VFS and at the time of interview they ask for a copy!!!

Ok.. Thank you.. i was wondering why they need to see the bank statements at the interview.. But any ways, i will send my husband my bank statements just in case, if they ask...

I am not in the July list too I am hoping to get an early august date in a day or two. My case was completed on June 27th, hence keeping my fingers crossed.

Bani, I am in the same boat as you, waiting for an interview date. case completed on June 27th. My approach thus far as been, I have been watching the dhl to track NVC packets and if I see any to my consulate(chennai) I have tried talking to an operator. Because my understanding is once they schedule the interview they send out the file to the respective consulate. But in the whole of July they haven't sent any packets at all to any consulate, probably this is due to July 4th holiday etc, they must all be still partying.. this week things should start working... and we should get to hear our dates in a couple of days

Ya, i am also waiting to hear that date of interview... You are right.. 4th July weekend was kinda long for us.. (atleast for me).. I hope by end of this week, i should hear the date.. Let me know.. if you know your date before me, so i can find mine some where near or after your's.. Fingers are crossed too..

my husband in in chennai, and got his medical done and everything went well he said..and i will post a review for future members going thru chennai for their medical, soon..

right now he is touring and chillin in chennai and will take a flight back to hyderabad tom..

Just got off from NVC operator asking for the interview date if it has been assigned to our case yet.. The lady replied.. Yes it has.... I was like.. woow... which one. She said " August 27th, 2008 at 7:30am"

I am so much happy.. Called my husband and told him first.. He is also so much happy..

Thank You to all VJ members and visitors for all your support and well wishes.. I am sure i will need all that until my husband receives the visa on hand..

Again, Thank you so much.. and i am very much happy. I cann't express the happiness and excitment that i am having right now while posting this... No words at all..

I was just searching on the dhl site about tracking by reference.. in there i did found one package that was sent to Mumbai, India on 07/08/2008.. But how can i know it is mine.. it may be of somebody else.. you know.. Cann't be sure..

Any sugguestions on how to find our own package...any certain numbers to look for..

u cant be sure, but i only had one package sent to chennai and then i signed up for the DHL text mesage for that package.. so when it arrived and left certain places i got a text message..

then i got amesage sayin it was received by chennai, and when i caled them the next day, they said it was received! so yes it was mine..

bani , check NVC AVR. It will say the date when the case was forwarded. Then substitute the day before, this day and the next day in the track by reference and see if Mumbai consulate received it. It cannot be only yours, it can contain many others in the Mumbai consulate, whose case completed on the same day as yours. I hope you have my document for the DHL website and all.
