Jun 30 2008, 08:03 AM
No but I did use the work computer to make changes to my resume.
On Friday when I was taking the store key off my keychain I realized only Tom was scheduled on Sunday. So I went in yesterday so he wouldn't be alone. (sux being an adult) and today on Monday...2 people are on vacation. So if I don't go in today, the boss would be standing in his showroom by himself. Tho I would kinda like to see that, I can't do it to them. I spent yesterday cleaning out my desk, all that is left is a few pens and pencils. I made a list of where I want to work next.
Financially, I have to decide like today what I am doing...either wait til next payday and leave or do it NOW. I have a car payment due and rent wiill roll around in a few weeks. They have been so weird about my checks lately, I am not sure I trust them to pay me in 2 weeks. Last month they waited til I had commission coming and took 1/2 of it away for previous errors. Lately they have been making up the rules as they go along.
So I have a huge dilema here in jackieland. Sorry you asked charles? lol My heart is racing, and I don't want to go. Time to put on my thick skin and go to work. I'm not 100% sure I will make it thru the day tho. Hey my mena peeps, have you ever been in this situation? Where you find yourself hating your job........did you leave? did you find another first? I'm getting yelled at almost daily now and I never know when it's coming or what for..........do I stay and take it? or take my talents elsewhere? advice and suggestions plz................
Jackie

Jackie, take your talents & experience elsewhere - 'nuff said! Perhaps this might be a good time to relcoate?

Please PM me your new number...
Life is too short to put up w/ BS from an employer or anyone else. But do it in a nice "adult" manner - give your 2 weeks and I, personally, would wait til I had another job lined up.
Kelly, I had to laugh at your typo -
bowel of cereal - lol! I was totally reading something else into it!

ahhh a 2 week notice. Good idea! I am thinking of maybe being a distributer rep and get out of the sales end of the flooring business. I have 14 years experience. Why not? 2 week notice.....takes the pressure off of having to leave today.

Jackie, Id say put in a two week notice and get the hell out, IM SURE u can go somewhere else making the same if not more money...Your very good at what you do...Have you had any offers from other places? Anything maybe closer by you..I know gas is a beotch these day...
Today will be hard for me, I have all these questions running thru my head, and now a days when u ask a doc a question, they blow it off, with "oh its fine" or "oh its normal" i know its in his best interest to be vaccinated, but, some of the stories i hear...i guess i have to put on my brave face for the lil guy, hes the one enduring the pain, oh i know my heart is gonna break...

kel he may cry for 30 seconds...and forget about it. He may remember it in a few hours and make a face, but it will be ok. I understand your concerns.
Give 2 weeks notice....takes the pressure off totally to interview and not feel shady. I have a list of about 5 places I want to apply at that are WAY closer to home. I am spending $400 a month on gas and I just can't do it much longer. It's either eat or drive most weeks.

Good morning guys!!! I haven't had my coffee yet so if I barely make any sense, I'll try to come back on after my first dose of coffee and condiments later to translate

. O.K. So Jackie, I have always heard that it is easier to get a job when you have a job for some strange reason. If it were me, I would DEFINITELY put in a 2 week notice. You do NOT deserve to be treated like crap on a job that doesn't seem to appreciate the experience and qualifications you have or any job for that matter. I have had a job like that. I walked out. I would not advise that. You need to show your new employer that you have integrity, even if your soon to be former job doesn't. Good luck and don't worry. There is a reason for everything!! Sounds like it is time for a job upgrade for you hun.

You are a great employee and your next employer will be soooo lucky to get you. Am I making any sense?

Well...I better go before I have to translate too many things. Have a great day everyone!! Friday is a'comin!!!

for no caffeine,,,you made perfect sense. Thx. I am thinking now it is not personal, he don't hate me...he is just having alot of stress running that business and he is taking it out on me. None of my coworkers can understand why it is ME he is riding. I am a firm believer that things do happen for reason, I call it 'going with the flow'.

I will make some calls today.
Well time to head to work. Put on my big girl face. I am a

Awwwww Jackie , i feel for you but girl don't quit your job til you have another one. I'm a bill collector and i see what the market is like out there. Our collections rate has gone down so much in the last year because the unemployment rate has gone up so much. Its so hard to find a job no matter how much experience you have.
I work for a good friend of 15 years and feel like she downgrades me in front of the other employees. I get yelled at for doin the same things the other 3 do and nobody else gets yelled at. So I put my big girl panties on as they say and just shut up do my job. And when i come home i usually ended up crying. I hear my hubby telling me it isn't worth the tears. And the next day or two its all over.
Thats just my two cents. Good Luck
brnidokiegurl
Jun 30 2008, 09:17 AM
I think most new employers will respect the two week notice and see u will do the same for them if needed..sometimes if there is a real need once the new place is arranged for whatever their reason a one week will at least help, but get the new one lined up first before anything is said. Dont give the notice and hope to have something in those two weeks, they may tell you go on and then you would have nothing to fall back on.
JOB FIRST - THEN NOTICE

Poppin in to say hi. Miss you all - my MENA friends.
Work has drained all my energy these past few days -- I'm so ready for a vacation next week!
Jackie, a 2 week notice sounds good -- sounds like you have an idea what to look for next. Good luck!
Kelly, I imagine it's hard being a mommy -- baby's owwies are your owwies. He will be fine and still loves his mommy.

jJ I agree, a two weeks notice is always good, you want to leave on a good note - you never know when you will need them for a reference or something but yes, I have been there certainly where I wanted to just stand up from my desk, give them all the finger and walk out. its hard not to sometimes.
Kelly, its really not THAT bad. give him some tylenol first but its tonite and tomorrow when his little legs will be very sore. Keep giving him the tylenol for 24 hours. and my nurse told me to try to move his legs around (like do the bicycle) several times in those first few hours before they get really sore so the medicine spreads out better and it will help alleviate some, not all, of the soreness. He'll probably just be really crabby and clingy, but it will pass in a day or so. At least you have a couple of days off.

Good morning everyone!
Jackie, I have to agree with what seems to be the consensus so far: don't quit until you have another job lined up. This market is really tough right now, and you don't know how long it will take to get another offer. You might get something right away, or it might take a few weeks, and you don't want to be out of a source of income for a while. If you're sending out applications and going on interviews, I bet your outlook will be a lot better because you know you're doing something to make your situation better.
I worked at the same job for 5 years and loved my boss and my co-workers, but a new supervisor was hired who was a nightmare to work for. I was miserable, making barely any money, and didn't know what to do. I had good job security, so I didn't want to quit until the right opportunity came along. I sent out my resume, had a few interviews, and 6 weeks later, I was offered a job with a huge firm with much better benefits and a pay increase. I then gave my 2 weeks' notice, which seems to be pretty standard around here, and told my new employer that I needed 2 weeks before I could start, and it wasn't a problem.
Good luck... I'm sure everything will be great!
Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Yeah Jackie... I took a job that paid less but closer to home (the gas prices were making it nearly impossible to afford the job) but now I am being paid far less than comfort so I am hunting for a job while working the one closer. Not sure if that makes sense but i can't afford to go without a job long. Good luck I am a retail manager so I know what it's like to get yelled at everyday. I am just looking at trying to get out of the industry myself but the sad thing is 15 years as a store manager has type casted me.
This is my Sunday.... tomorrow back to work I go.

I always gave the kids Tylenol before the shots to get a leg up on the shots.... funny thing is in the Army when we had those "revolving door" immunizations we had to do pushups after every round....lol we had our shots in our arms so same philosophy as the bicycle

Jackie, if you do decide to give your notice be sure to get all your stuff home before doing so. I'm not sure if you have any of your client information there, but chances are they could just walk you out if you give them notice since you are in sales.

Nawal, I had days of feeling down in the dumps after i had zaid, kiss ur babies and their sure to bring a smile to your face...having a baby or in your case babies can be overwhelming, especially when your hormones are trying to get back on track!! lol it will pass soon!!
Amal, yes, we love the mohawk!! sofyan is constantly tellin me to stop doing his hair like that...lol. it was never intentional...he has HORRIBLE dry skin so i like cake lotion all over his lil head, and if i dont comb thru it, it looks soo funny. so, one day i started combin up and realized the mohawk stayed..alas, my child is 2 months old and could probably afford a haircut, it will be interesting to see if it falls out or not...
i talked sofyan into going to the pediatrician with me, i figured, at least if the baby is inconsolable after the shots i can sit in the back seat with him and give him a bottle or something...food is the way to my kids heart, i have a new bottle of baby tylenol bought and ready for use!! I know the next 24 horus probably wont be fun, he is already a very crabby child as it is with the colic...with shots added...ahhh prove mommy wrong zaid!!! thats all i can hope for
today is my lil brothers birthday, we will celebrate at home, my sister is gonna cook chicken curry and is baking a strawberry banana cake...mmm mmm cant wait...
