Question for all the Custom House users out there. Do you get a better exchange rate using CH than what you would get from a bank? I usually just transfer between my Royal bank and Centura accounts smaller amounts but have a large amount I want to transfer and was wondering if I would get a better rate with CH?

I always got a better rate with CH. I would phone the bank (wachovia) and ask what the exchange rate would be, and CH always came out ahead. As well my parents gave me a chunk of change few yrs back, they went to their bank (bank of montreal) and asked what their exchange rate was and came out ahead as well. I'm sure it may not always be the case. Customer service is great at CH. I now transfer $$$ both ways. So when I come to canada, I tx $$$ to my Cdn account.
