Ok, so I just got back from Jamaica and we're married!!!! So, now it's time to file- but I have some questions, please bare with me and I hope you guys have the answers!

I have my 1-130 all ready to go, but here is where I get confused:

we were married by emergency license, and after the wedding, the pastor signed a form with all of our information on it. It is titled, "Marriage (duplicate) register" It is signed by my husband and I, our witnesses and the pastor. It lists the date and location of the marriage. Will this suffice as our marriage certificate or do we have to wait until it is registered with the Registers General so we can get the official copy of the marriage license? And if this will work, can I send a certified copy of it? If so, where do I go to get a certified copy?

And finally, the last part of the instructions indicates "other proof." How important is this? We don't have shared property or bank accounts or anything like that... we could send affidavits from some friends/family, but I don't want to hold things up if this isn't important.
Any advice???

Marriage certificate is important for family based greencard or K-3 visa. If you don't have it, you can get certified copies from the marriage registrar office. It will be available after your legal marriage in marriage registrar office.
