My fiancee was told to update his medical test results because they were about to expire and then take them to the embassy. That is the only thing he needed the CO told him and he would receive his visa. He went this morning to the embassy and took his passport and told him to pick it up on Tuesday. They did not tell him he was going to get a visa but gave him a green slip. I am hoping this is good news since they kept his passport?

Thanks everyone for letting me know this. My fiancee is going crazy over there in Dakar(he told me to contact our attorney, our senator etc) because he thinks the green slip means nothing good. I emailed him and told him things will be all right.

Good news! My fiancee received his visa today and we are both so happy. It has been a long and tough journey but we will finally be together. We started this process in November of 2006. He has had to travel from Mali to Dakar four times and had to face many delays from the embassy. I spent a total of $5,000 but now that does not matter to me. Now off to search for plane tickets!
