Well, my fiance' went for her interview on the 24th of June.. and after 6 hours she was given a 221g. The consular officer was a complete b****ch who seemed to have left common sense at home. That is the problem with common sense... IT IS NOT COMMON.
neways. after interviewing and looking at the documents, she wasn't satisfied that our relationship wasn't legitimate I guess.
Sooo.. the 221 g states.. to submit " additional proof of relationship including but not limited to"
1) list of guests who attended the engagement ceremony, including address, ph# and relation . ( NOT A PROBLEM)
2) Photographs of the two together (She bloody has these in front of her in her hands!!!!)
3) Photographs from the engagement ceremony (Same thing... my fiance' took the album with her and submitted 6-7 pictures initially )
4) Invoices (if any) from the engagement ceremony (not a huge deal.. but we've decided to submit the dvd of our ceremony.. that should take care of the "doubt" factor)
5) Cards (if any) from family members and well wishers on the occasion (It wasn't a formal ceremony to begin with and secondly... In Indian culture.. no one is going to bring cards.. especially if only close freinds and family are present)
6) Proof of an US wedding plans already fixed such as reception hall, photography, wedding invitation.
( how in all that is holy.. would I make reservations or print wedding cards when I myself dont' know when my fiance is going to be granted her Visa!!!) should I put down the downpayments simply on wishful thinking? my god!!!
7) Notarized statement from beneficiary and petitioner explaining in their own words, how and when they met ( or when they met and how, when and why they decided to marry. Please include an explanation regarding why you wish to have the marriage ceremony in the US instead of India. (harmless enuf.. not a problem)
8) Notarized list from the petitioner noting all travel to visit the beneficiary in India, including proof of the same. ( did not understand the last bit... "including proof of the same" what does that mean guys???
I have attached my statement.. item #7 for your review guys.
My fiance has the copies of all the emails that we originally submitted and the phonebills and the e-cards etc. Should she submit those again??
What do guys think? .... Should I lose hope?? or treat this as merely a roadbump?
