I am soooooooooooooo tired of reading about how the FBI and other agencies are soooooooooo overworked doing the security checks for visas/AOS/naturalization. This is the answer they always give, we have so many cases, we have too few workers, we do millions of cases a year, we clear 85% in 60 days.

Horse Puckey

it has been more than 5 years since 9/11. I am tired of hearing this as an excuse. If any for profit company was reacting this slowly they would have already been out of business.

Not only that but the review this year by the Inspector General found the FBI name check program was understaffed (how many years does it take to hire workers?), used an outdated system, was filled with flaws, and had no oversight, poor training of users, and on and on.
One report stated the FBI bought this really good software to help them, it took them a year to finally review it after they bought it, and then they found out it was not compatible with their system.

The FBI needs to stop whining and start working, USCIS needs to stop passing the buck and start looking for alternatives.

My so is now in his third (or maybe more) round of FBI name checks. First time he was cleared for like three days before a new hit happened, the second time he was cleared for like 30 minutes, this time maybe he will be cleared long enough to get the visa.

Stop Whining and Start Fixing.

Ya - real lives are being shattered to pieces because of this. My husband has been to the embassy 3 times, got two stamps of AP and still no word, he was cleared for several days but back on checks....how many lives will be ruined before these backlogs get cleared. I understend and understand how necessary it is to have security in our nation but my God.......a full 6-X months for a darn security check ...come on....

im in 100 percent agreement with u but what i dont understand is why didnt the first time our guys went thru the security check pick up what ever hits they was suppose to get if in deed there was a hit after clearance just what does that tell us about the security check to begin with?
tammy2688
right...and WHY do they expire? what do u mean expire? and arent all the names added to the list going to be continuously added?! I mean I know mostly everyone who isnt a complete liar like having another wifey in their home country n all - every other decent man DID get cleared, even if it did take a year...but do they have a stopping point? is that because it showed "clear" or because they think...ok 1 year, they suffered enough, letem go

these are REAL LIVES....I just cannot see my life and other's lives become destroyed because of this....

I do understand the process, don't get me wrong its just its really drives people nuts after you realize 9 months can make an entire human being in the womb but 10-14 months cant gaurantee a visa...

Nutty
Oh belinda!!!

I soooo agree with you!!!! What pisses me off is that people at the FBI make good salaries and other government workers make good money and the agencies get a lot of money. So what is the damn problem!!!!?????

Have you decided to see your fiance????
