Hello,

I just became a US citizen two months ago and I have sponsored my parents - mum and dad. I received a reply from the INS that their I-130 got approved and then I got a package from the NVC asking for a $70 fee and Choice of Agent form. Here is my question. My parents are visiting me and are here in the States currently on a Visa Waiver.

Do you think it is better for my parents to do an adjustment of status here (since their I-130 has already been approved) and then I can file for an I-485 while they are here. Or should I have the NVC send the pwk to the Embassy in London?

Some people have advised me that it is faster if they do it from here. Thoughts?

Problem is if they are here and you file I-485 to adjust, they cannot leave the USA until they have green-card, or AP document (I-131 filed with the I-485) or the adjustment of status will be considered abandoned.

Also, the fees from NVC are much less than adjustment of status. $455+$45+$70 for the visa vs, $1010 to adjust status.

Don't they have a home to go back to Affairs to settle. Health Insurance to sort out?
