Is there any rules or general discouragment of thread jacking here? I've noticed in a few threads where for example person A asks a question, Person B will comment and say Person C takes offense at that comment or doesnt like the reply. It then then proceeds into Persons B and C bickering back and forth in the thread thus taking emphasis away from the original question.

But it shouldn't be allowed to get that bad. Distracts away from the main issue at hand.

Make sure they know thread jacking will not be tolerated, so they won't do it? Works well on my OH's forum.

I agree that hijacking should be contained as much as possible in the immigration forums.

In OT, however, it is encouraged!!

alot on here just do it in fun and most times dont mean anything, sometimes gets out of hand yes, then u just move on and dont post there...

yes that is another thing OT is a catch all expect anything in there, if u have a very serious question or problem in immigration go to your forum that would best fit the need and im sure those that can help will, now even there is possibility of people not agreeing but you will get many variations of answers thta might help, some just stay in their particular forum and never read OT

The moderators cant watch them all, but for the most part if a simple question gets a high reply count, then this attracts the attention of a Mod, and they can and do put a stop to it, and can and do suspend the offenders either for a few days or permanently.

Actually, the report button only sends a complaint to Ewok. Ergo, it may be days before anything is done if you use the Report button. Or, if you're the sort who pushes that button all the time, it would probably just be ignored. Can't say that I'd blame him. Think about how many times per day that button gets pushed. They ALL go to one guy. Would YOU be able to work, have a family life, AND deal with 847 reports each day?
