I was reading this book from Sherry Argov (why men marry bitches).
The word "######" was used as an acronym for "Babe In Total Control of Herself".
The book refers to independent women who could do things on their own.
Women who are smart enough to decide and stick to their decision.
Someone who could stand on her own feet.
It was like a "smart man" would choose an "independent princess" than a "damsel in distress"..
What do u guys and girls think?

i do not like "feeble" men as well..
i guess women should have a balance between independence and respect (of hubby's authority)..
while men could be giving, they should also be firm enough if they think that their ego is being overly damaged.
i love doing things independently (like working for me not to ask my hubby to buy my whims) but at the same time i do respect his feelings and opinions..
we compromise on things..

I'm with Lisa. I'd never have any respect for a guy who let me walk all over him. Nor would I let him walk all over me. Though a strategically placed "whatever you think, dear" can sometimes be a good thing.

Now that I am older, I can say I am well established. I know who I am, and what I am and I have never felt the need to depend on others for a dang thing. I enjoy having a man in my life, not that he can do things for me or give me things because I don't feel the need for that. What can a man offer me that I can't get for myself? I do not need to have children to prove or feel I am complete as a woman. I don't need to conform to any standards in society that says I must do this or that in order to be ' acceptable ' .

Confidence, whether it's shown in men or women, is attractive. That's the real issue here -- not being a "######" or "assertive" or a "princess." If you know what you want and you're confident in your abilities to go about getting it or doing it, then that attitude generally shows through. However, there is a stark difference between confidence and arrogance. Many people (often men) make this mistake, and while a confident man will usually seem appealing to women, an arrogant one will most likely be a major turn-off. The same goes in reverse, as well.

I remember when I got married, a much older friend of mine advised me that in order to have a "happy and successful" marriage, there are two things I should learn to say:
- "Yes, dear"
- "No, dear" (to be used only after the wife says "You're not going to do/wear that, are you?")
Of course... this is also the same friend who told me to toss a brightly colored sock in with my wife's laundry, so when it screws her stuff up, she'll never have me do it again.
