Hi all!

I have read in several places that Visa interviews only take place in Sydney Australia.....this seems to stupid...why not Melbourne, Perth, Etc? There are embasseys in all these city's in Oz...so I don't get...

Is there a reason why its only Sydney?

Embassy and Consulate are two seperate fish.....it is via the immigration post/consulate general that K and immigrant visas are issued.

The Consulate in Sydney is the only U.S. immigrant visa processing post in Australia

<shrug> dunno why but family visas are only done there. I WOULD say to make it harder...but since it's about the easiest process EVER in Australia, I bite my tongue. I got my husband here in less than three months. I won't say a word smile.gif

According to your timeline it was extremely fast. Your I-130 was sent and approved the same day your husband got his visa. All of this happened 2 months after pack 4. I don't get this CR-1 process. You get pack 4 before you send in the I-130?

Karo, like many, did not do the CR-1 process by filing in the US. It was done via DCF at the consulate abroad.....everything is filed at the consulate. Hence why it is so fast.

I don't know why but I know like in Indonesia although there are several consulates you would still have to go to the US Embassy in Jakarta for interview. I guess maybe Sydney is the Embassy that only do the inteview.

Good luck! rose.gif
