Hi guys,

I am new here, so please don't laugh at me if you think my question is silly.

I mailed I-129F petition on 06/02/08, VSC received it on 06/06/08. I got my NOA1 in the mail on 06/12/08 and created an account at USCIS website to follow my case progress on-line.

Up until yesterday I had the date of 06/11/08 in the "Last entered" column. Yesterday, there was a change of date to 6/21/08. As far as I understand this is what is being called "touch". So we were "touched". And that's good!

But 6/21/08 - was Saturday. Does VSC work on Saturdays? wacko.gif

Yep, and sometimes Sundays too! smile.gif We got our NOA2 on a Sunday but weren't notified until Monday morning. They have adjucators that will take files home and work them there.

Thanks!

That's great! Maybe this is why VSC progresses a little bit faster. Anyway, for me it's a great news.

Thanks again! biggrin.gif

Vermont is working 7 days per week. Yes, it is possible to get a touch over the weekend,

Gimme a break! It is already something if they look at files during regular work hours! ;-)

Thanks guys!

Also what interests me is that there was a "touch", but no e-mail. I turned on e-mail notifications, but were never notified by e-mail. Can this be possible?

As I once read here, if your case gets touched and you don't get an email, it means that they're just working on it (may be, sometimes, simply moving your folder from one desk to another) but the status of your case remains the same.

When I was waiting for my I-129F approval, I had no idea about touches so I wasn't checking. Unlike now, when I'm - as many others - do obsessively check our cases for touches three-four times a day smile.gif tongue.gif . By the way, our I-129F case had never been touched before it was approved, no single touch!

Good luck with your journey For K-1 filers, things are movin so much faster now smile.gif !!!

mariapoe is right, you get no email notification when your case is 'touched'..the date just changes. And yes, sometimes adjuticators work weekends or even take your case home. It's important to remember that a 'touch' can mean anything...and it can mean nothing at all. I don't care what anybody says tho... still feels good! wink.gif

Thanks for the answer! I feel so much more optimistic now! good.gif
Sinergy
They dont normally work weekends, the system updates what they have imput, and depending on the system update is when you will get a touched or a response.
If your adjudicator put in the system they opened your case at 5pm on a friday, then friday night or whenever the system updates (every 12 or 24hrs) thats when you will see it on the site.

There was a group of us at VSC in Feb. that got our NOA2's on the same day....a Sunday! So it definitely is possible!
KimandRuss
It was stated by a former adjuticator that some DO work weekends and also take files home. Also, it was stated in a report that during the influx last year many were working extra (flex) hours as well.
Sinergy
Possibly, but the usual reason would be the statement above:
"the system updates what they have imput, and depending on the system update is when you will get a touched or a response. "

Thanks to all of you, guys! yes.gif

One way or another, for me it sounds great! By the way - our case got touched today again. I think it's a good sign. I think it means that they are actually working on it, and it's not just sitting there. kicking.gif

Good luck to all of you! biggrin.gif
