I don't know how to answer. I've been with my current employer in two distinct blocks of time, separated by employment elsewhere. All together almost 7 years.

Oh and wife, 1 yr.
Jenn!
I'm just over 2.5 years here, no plans to leave any time soon.

Hubby has been with this employer for a few months now.

Me: been with same company 2 years (but 9 mo as temp).

Husband: been with same company 1.5 years.

I've been in this company for 9 months. I initially plan to stay here for good but due to some unfortunate circumstances I would have to quit. I got a promotion but I turned it down.

I'm eyeing 2 bigger companies, one of which already gave me positive feedbacks and an "invitation" for a possible transfer. I wish to leave my current employer as soon as I finish my projects with them, which could take a few more months. I plan to, at least, stay until I have a year of experience.

Fortunately, my USC husband has been with his employer for 10 years.

IMHO, A job is only a job. It is solely a means to create income. If a better opportunity comes along, I would not hesitate to switch. I have had well over 20 jobs in my life. I don't look at an employer in the same light as family and marriage. I have never received a kick out of any job I've had. I give my employer my time and when I leave, for the day, I leave and don't think about them again until the next time I report in. I don't want work friends and don't want to socialize with colleagues outside of work.

Just curious, but what do you do for a living?

I feel no loyalty to my company only to certain individuals within it smile.gif
Ms. Squirrel
I have been working with my current employer for almost 2 years now (2 years on August 1st). The longest I have ever been with a company - usually I get bored after 1 1/2 and look for a new challenge.

Next school year (in the fall) I'll be starting my 4th year at that school so I voted 4-6 devil.gif . I also do freelance work and I just completed one year with that. Hubby has been at his job for four months. Neither one of us has any plans to change jobs now, but may do so next year.

I've been with my company for almost 2 years. I'm leaving to get my Masters in a completely different field to *hopefully* acheive some job satisfaction.

The husband was with his employer for 2 years and recently changed jobs and has been with his current employer for a couple weeks. smile.gif

Just finished year 7 with this school. I taught a year at a private high school and another year teaching frosh English at a university in Louisiana as well. I love my job.

I retired from the Air Force in 1996 after a little over 20 years. I started my current job in 1997.
DairyFarmer
John has been farming his entire life so I was tempted to tick 16+.

I've been in the UK 8 weeks now and working for 6 of them. (Two companies, first a temp position and now a fulltime position in finance)
Nessa

Jomo's girl
I've been here 3 years in September. Before that, I had been at my other job for 7 years. If the whole place hadn't closed, I'd still be there.....I wish I was still there.

Andre's been at his job for about a year and a half. He'll stick it out till he's promoted to assistant manager....sometime this year. Then, who knows. Some days are defintely better then others.
Mrs.J06
Me (immigrant): 2 years in this job
Husband: 11 years this year

The hubster isn't going anywhere (why would he, he's the boss tongue.gif ) and I will start looking for something different next spring.
LauraUK
I've been in the same government deptartment for three years, but I've worked for three different areas in the same dept in that time due to promotions. Is that three jobs or just one?

My SO has been in the USAF for 5 years and has just signed on for another 4.
Pattu Rani
I've been with my current employer for over 8 years - to be honest the main reason I have stuck with them so long is the generous vacation time(plus an understanding boss who has repeatedly let me work extra and take comp time so I can visit Govi for a longer time).
